Austria wins gold! Austria's Lara Vadlau and Lukas Mähr have triumphed with gold in the mixed 470 double-handed dinghy event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, marking Austria's first gold medal in sailing! 🥇🇦🇹 Lara and Lukas overcame a challenging start, with a false start in the first race and being last at the first buoy. Their resilience and strategic brilliance carried them to victory. 🌬️✨ This gold medal is the pinnacle of their careers, especially for Vadlau, who had previously competed in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics without medaling. She is no stranger to stormy days. ⛈️ Their success is also a testament to the guidance of their technical trainer, Roman Hagara, a double Olympic gold medalist and mentor to Lucanus ⛵️ Polagnoli. As Roman shared, "If you want to achieve something, you need to set a goal and make a plan.
