Thanks eu-LISA! A great opportunity for building inter-agency ties and learning from each other.
#JHAAN2024 Update » 🌟 As this year’s Chair of the Justice and Home Affairs Agencies Network, eu-LISA is all about boosting inter-agency collaboration! Recently, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming colleagues from our sister agencies – the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), Frontex, and the European Union Agency for Asylum – EUAA – to our headquarters in Tallinn as part of the JHAAN Staff Exchange Programme. 👍 It’s been an exciting time, full of fresh ideas and reflections on best practices. Working side by side, we've actively shared knowledge and discovered new ways to achieve our goals together. This collaboration has been a brilliant opportunity for mutual learning and growth – and we're just getting started! 🙏 A huge thank you to Niamh Webster, Katarzyna (Kasia) Chudzinska, and Nina Trifunovic for being such fantastic visiting colleagues. We can’t wait to see what’s next! 😎 #StrongerTogether for #ASaferEurope

This alarming statistic reflects the inequalities that continue to limit young black people's opportunities and potential. It's time to address this, support youth, and advocate for educational equity. Everyone deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed 🙌 See the report on 'Being Black in the EU: Experiences of people of African descent' from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights for more: https://europa.eu/!HX8qCg

Just concluded two days of productive wide-ranging talks in Warsaw. European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights Director Sirpa Rautio met Polish Justice Minister Adam Bodnar and EU Affairs Minister Adam Szłapka on how FRA can support the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025 and its possible #fundamentalrights priorities. While in Poland she also met Poland's Biuro Rzecznika Praw Obywatelskich #HumanRights Commissioner Marcin Wiącek and #DataProtection President to learn firsthand about the #FundamentalRights situation in Poland, and how FRA can partner up in efforts to promote and protect human rights. Thanks to the European Commission Representation in Poland for hosting invigorating talks with Polish #civilsociety organisations to listen and learn about #civicpsace challenges in Poland. She outlined the many ways FRA can help on issues like #RuleOfLaw, migration etc. Filip Pazderski Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights Fundacja Panoptykon National Federation of Polish NGOs Stefan Batory Foundation Tomasz Sieniow Katarzyna Szymielewicz Citizens Network Watchdog Poland

This study from the Migration Policy Group underlines the systemic #racism across Europe that research from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights has long pointed to. We call on the EU and EU countries to step up efforts in fighting all forms of racism and related intolerance. This includes acknowledging and countering systemic and deeply rooted racism and related intolerance in our societies. There is also a need to continue to monitor and collect evidence-based data to feed into EU and national anti-racism and antisemitism laws and policies. The EU should also provide a safer online space for all and act against online hate. For more see: https://europa.eu/!TXfCDY
🚨 New Report 🚨 📢 Our latest report, authored by Carmine Conte, PhD, Senior Legal Policy Analyst at MPG, uncovers the hidden structural racism in our societies. It examines the systemic disadvantages faced by racialised communities across eight EU member states: Czechia, Germany, Greece, Latvia, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, and Sweden. 🔍 Supported by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, this study reveals how structural and institutional racism persist across key sectors such as housing, education, healthcare, employment, and law enforcement, disproportionately affecting marginalised communities including Roma, Black people, Muslims, and others. 🌍 Tackling structural and institutional racism is essential for building a just and equitable society. Our policy recommendations offer a roadmap for effective action at both national and European levels. 🤝 Curious about the findings? Explore the report ➡ https://bit.ly/4eaoAaL
