We are excited to announce that our industry partners, FIPP - Connecting Global Media and Press Database and Licensing Network (PDLN), are organizing a webinar that promises valuable insights for FIBEP community. As we continue to build bridges with these two esteemed organizations, we invite our members to join the FIPP x PDLN Webinar: Collective Licensing. Publisher content in some applications – notably media monitoring – is often licensed through collective management organisations, but the majority of licensing is handled directly by publishers. New content use challenges like web scraping, text and data mining and AI raise questions about where the boundary between the collective and the direct approaches are best drawn. FIPP and PDLN are working together to help publishers make informed decisions on these decisions with a webinar bringing together experts with a range of views. The webinar will attempt to shine a light on publisher involvement in collective licensing and whether and when a collective approach is appropriate. This seminar is open to all, members and non members. September 19th 2024; 15.00 CET / 14.00 BST / 9.00 EST / online (Zoom platform) Details and links will be sent to registered attendees shortly before the event. You can register here: https://lnkd.in/etpCf4ej
