Exciting News! Our new co-processing plant at the #OMV Schwechat refinery is now operational. Up to 160,000 metric tons of liquid biomass per year will be transformed into a high-quality renewable diesel blending component. This sustainable fuel will power the newest generation of OMV’s MaxxMotion Diesel, providing a solution for drivers of combustible cars to reduce their CO2 footprint. #Greenhydrogen has the potential to make a significant impact on reducing carbon emissions. How? By replacing grey #hydrogen as a crucial building block for fuels and raw materials in the chemicals industry, we can greatly enhance the sustainability of these products. Not only that, but green hydrogen is set to become an important energy carrier to improve the sustainability of energy-intensive processes across various industries.   Securing sufficient volumes of local production and a robust supply of green hydrogen to Austria is therefore essential in preventing industrial migration and meeting collective climate goals. In line with this vision, #OMV is delighted to announce our membership in the Hydrogen Import Alliance Austria (#HIAA), alongside seven other leading Austrian energy and industrial companies. Together with AMAG, Gas Connect Austria, LAT Nitrogen, RHI Magnesita, VERBUND AG, voestalpine, and Wiener Stadtwerke GmbH, we are committed to establishing the value chain for importing green hydrogen to Austria. By working together, we aim to make a meaningful contribution to achieving collective climate targets.
