⛰️ Ford Performance Takes on Pikes Peak with the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck ⚡ Ford Performance is thrilled for our return to "America's Mountain" this week for the 102nd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, brought to you by Gran Turismo. We’re taking this opportunity to advance our research and development of electric powertrains with the debut of our new EV demonstrator vehicle: the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck. Drawing inspiration from our electric pickup, the F-150 Lightning, the SuperTruck is enhanced with improved aerodynamics and power to conquer the challenging 12.5-mile uphill course. Developed in collaboration with Ford Performance, Ford Design and STARD, this vehicle attains 6,000 lbs of downforce at 150 mph. 🔋 EV Innovation in Action This marks our second consecutive year at Pikes Peak with an electric demonstrator vehicle. Last year, our 1,400-horsepower Electric SuperVan 4.2 set a class record and clinched a class victory. The Pikes Peak Hill Climb is the perfect proving ground for our EV powertrains, pushing the limits on twisting mountain roads and extreme conditions. 🔧 Rolling Laboratories Our performance-minded rolling laboratories, like the Mustang Super Cobra Jet 1800, which recently broke the world record for the fastest quarter-mile pass, help us develop and refine crucial components such as motors, inverters, and battery packs. These learnings directly enhance our production vehicles, ensuring our customers get the best in EV technology. The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck EV Demonstrator is the latest iteration of that. 🏎️ Expanding Horizons Our innovations extend far beyond Pikes Peak. We're also gleaning valuable insights from our latest EV demonstrator, the F-150 Lightning Switchgear, an on-road/off-road powerhouse developed with RTR, and the Mustang Mach-E 1400. Our advancements in hybrid powertrains are pulled from learnings in World Rally Championship and will be pivotal in our strategic partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing as we reenter Formula 1 in 2026.
