🔈'The recent joint commitment by The World Bank and African Development Bank Group working closely with Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and The Rockefeller Foundation to electrify 300 million people by 2030, provides a powerful example of what we can do together.' These words by United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed are a resounding call to action to end energy poverty in #Africa and beyond. If we are to end energy poverty, we must all work together; the support of governments, development partners, philanthropies, the private sector and others is the only way to accelerate progress and guarantee success.

At the 2024 African Caucus Meeting currently underway in Abuja, Nigeria I led a session that looked at how Mission 300, the ambitious initiative by The World Bank and the African Development Bank Group to electrify 300 million people across #Africa by 2030, can be potentially achieved across the continent, and how the support of governments, development partners, philanthropies, the private sector and public resources can accelerate progress and guarantee its success.    The session saw the participation of Wale Edun, #Nigeria's Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Kevin KARIUKI - AfDB Vice President for Power Energy Climate and Green Growth, Ousmane Diagana, the World Bank Vice President for Western and Central Africa, Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa; among many others.
