VALE STANLEY EDWARDS | It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Edwards on July 17th. Stanley, the son of our company’s founder Austin William Edwards, served as A W Edwards’ Managing Director from 1961 to 1984. Stanley was a visionary leader who upheld the values of integrity, dedication, consistency and quality, principles that continue to define our company culture today. His impact on the company and on everyone who had the honour of working with him is indelible. Our thoughts are with the Edwards family during this sad time.

HANDED OVER | Late last month, after 1,349 days, A W Edwards handed over the completed Crows Nest Station being delivered as part of Sydney Metro City & Southwest project to station operator Metro Trains Sydney. This significant milestone marks one step closer to city metro services running in August!🚆 A big thank you to the 6000 workers who have worked over 1.5 million hours, and overcome many challenges including working through the wettest year on record, to deliver this once in a lifetime city-shaping project for the NSW government. 👏🏾👏🏻👏 Other fun facts about the Crows Nest Station build include: - 220 pre-cast brick panels installed and 126,00 bricks hand laid to achieve the unique exterior wall design - More than 34,540 cubic metres of concrete has been poured (enough to fill 9.5 Olympic swimming pools) 🏊♂️ - 167 pre-stressed, 70 tonne beams installed to support each station floor - 11,360 tonnes of steel reinforcement used (enough to build 1/5 of the harbour bridge) 🌉 - 95% of construction waste has been recycled, 75% of site power has been from renewable energy sources and 49% recycled material has been incorporated into concrete mixes - More than $47,000 of funding has been provided by A W Edwards to support local events, businesses and grass-root community initiatives - Approximately 14,000 pavers have been hand laid across internal areas🧇 - More than 17 kilometres of underground services installed within the station box and surrounding streets. #milestoneachieved #AWEdwards #SydneyMetro #Buildingforlife #building #construction

COMMUNITY DAY | A W Edwards Crows Nest Station team alongside Sydney Metro staff recently welcomed 9,500 community members through the station on Sunday 26 May. A big thank you to members of the Crows Nest team who prepared the site for the event and to those who volunteered their time on the day. MILESTONE COMPLETION | A W Edwards is proud to celebrate the successful completion of Milestone 1 of the 5,000 square metre tenancy fitout (levels L0 to L9) of the Integrated Acute Services Building for our valued client UNSW. We have also greatly appreciated the opportunity to work alongside MostynCopper once again in delivering this project. This design and construct project has resulted in the creation of research, teaching, training, clinical and laboratory spaces within the Integrated Acute Services Building.
