Our amazing partner OzHarvest is launching a Free Supermarket on August 13, in response to the food insecurity crisis SA is facing. Open 3 days a week, this 'take what you need, give what you can' model, is a place shoppers can access nourishing groceries, free of charge. Shoppers are asked to bring a bag, and shop once a week to ensure the love can be spread around. This offering will extend OzHarvest SA's impact beyond delivering 45,000 meals a week to agencies throughout Adelaide and surrounding suburbs to support those in need from quality surplus food that was otherwise headed for landfill. Did you watch Wimbledon this year? How about the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup?  While most of our dedicated Grounds Team are focused on our AFL playing surface here at home, we’ve also had team members all over the world, sharing their expertise and learning from the best. Head Curator Damian Hough has taken our Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions service all the way to the US, asked to prepare pitches in New York for the World Cup. He had Todd with him in the Big Apple, while Marcus and Sam worked with the team in Florida. Meanwhile, Brooke has been making history at Wimbledon, and Caleb is spending the summer of cricket at Lord’s.  Opportunities like these allow us to showcase Adelaide Oval on the world stage and bring home best practice knowledge to keep our grounds in immaculate shape.  This is what the group chat has looked like of late. At Adelaide Oval, we believe in the power of growth - both professionally and personally. This came to life at our recent inaugural Grow Conference which was dedicated to our amazing casual and part-time workforce. Our staff are at the heart of our business. They are the people who make your food and coffee before the game, scan your tickets, escort you to your seat, and pour you that cold drink at half time – they are the faces of our stadium. The conference was our way of saying thank you and reinvesting in them. Our 520 attendees were guests for the day, giving them opportunity to see the business from a different lens and learn more about our customers. Together, staff grew their knowledge, they grew connections with fellow employees, and they grew their confidence. But importantly, they had fun! A big thank you to Robert Taylor Cultural services for the moving Welcome to Country and to our host Jarrod Walsh for keeping the energy alive on a Sunday. Staff were also lucky enough to participate in world-class customer experience training from Monique Richardson which was overlayed by Disability Inclusion and Awareness Training from Get Skilled Access. Gather Round 2025 here we come! We were delighted to host AFL - Australian Football League and Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Government of South Australia today to announce that Gather Round...Festival of Footy year three will run from Thursday, April 10 through to Sunday April 13 with the fixture to be announced later this year. Can't wait to host fans and teams for another year!

This time last week, Adelaide Oval proudly hosted the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. Our commitment to supporting the fight against homelessness saw three members of our Senior Management Team - Nick Addison, Jo Thomson, and Ben Adams – take part in the Sleepout and raise $18k to date. Our team joined more than 100 South Australian business and community leaders at the event, and together they have helped raise $643k of the $900k target so far. We love how many diverse events and guests we get to host at our stadium and last night was no exception! We were excited to welcome over 800 guests from all around the world for the 12th World Potato Congress Dinner; the event was an opportunity to network, learn and celebrate guests’ contributions to global food security and the future sustainability of the potato industry. Our creative culinary team crafted a completely bespoke menu which included 170kg of potatoes, supplied by the Congress - another first for our award-winning team!

On the 20th of this month, our CEO Nick Addison will be staying overnight at our hallowed ground – with just a sleeping bag and some cardboard, for the iconic Vinnies CEO Sleepout SA. Nick will be joined by Peter Malinauskas, Premier of South Australia and over 100 other Business Leaders who are joining forces to raise funds for Vinnies’ homelessness services in SA.
