One of the biggest and most ambitious projects ever undertaken in Brisbane is set to open its doors to the public for the very first time tomorrow. Queen’s Wharf, designed by Cottee Parker Architects for Destination Brisbane Consortium (DBC), is a $3.6B entertainment and residential development encompassing twelve hectares of land in Brisbane’s CBD. Once complete, the precinct will comprise 2,000 apartments, 1,100 hotel rooms, a 1,440-seat ballroom and an array of premium facilities set to position Brisbane as a world-class destination for entertainment and living. We have been engaged by Destination Brisbane Consortium to deliver specialist building services on residential Towers 5 and 6 (which are currently under construction), including Hydraulics, Specialist Lighting, Vertical Transportation, Sustainability, Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Vertical Transportation, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The scale and grandeur of the development, and its close proximity to our Brisbane office, makes it a project of particular significance to our team. Queen’s Wharf is the first precinct in Brisbane to be awarded a coveted 6 Star Green Star Communities rating, while the 72-storey Queen’s Wharf Tower has been awarded a 6 Green Star Design & As-Built Rating. Construction on the remainder of the precinct is estimated to continue until 2030. Designed by HB Arch, the state-of-the-art Parramatta Eels Centre of Excellence and Community Centre at Kellyville Park will be the first of its kind in Australia, providing a comprehensive environment for all levels of the game.   The Centre of Excellence will encompass a dedicated space for the Parramatta Eels National Rugby League Club, featuring elite training facilities, coaching areas and administrative offices. This multi-use space will also incorporate a number of public amenities and facilities to facilitate greater community engagement with all forms of rugby league. We are extremely excited to be working with the Parramatta Eels, Project Director Waypoint and Project Manager MostynCopper to design and implement the audio visual component of the project. As part of this, we will be implementing loudspeaker systems, an IPTV system for video review, digital signage, an innovative room booking system and video conferencing technology to facilitate presentations and town hall meetings.   The Parramatta Eels Centre of Excellence and Community Centre is currently under construction and set for completion in early 2025. Australia’s data centre landscape is booming, driven largely by advancements in cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The burgeoning number of data centres in Australia (214) collectively consume more than 5% of the entire nation’s electricity supply, presenting a number of challenges for engineers and architects involved in their design. Our team recently worked on one of the most anticipated luxury residential developments in Australia, located in the heart of its fastest-growing city. Designed by world-renowned Koichi Takada Architects for Aria Property Group, Upper House on Hope Street, Brisbane, is a 34-storey, $111m development comprising 188 high-end 2, 3, and 4-bedroom apartments. The tower is a paradigm of intelligent, contemporary architecture and sets a new standard for luxury property development in Australia. ADP Consulting was engaged as the formal Green Star Accredited Professional on the project to ensure the achievement of a 5 Star Green Star rating. We also provided ongoing ESD design review, construction and post-construction services, and consulted with project teams to implement the audio visual component of the project.
