We’re proud to be one of the first Australian workplaces to be recognised by Fairtrade Australia & New Zealand as a Fairtrade Supporting Workplace. Fairtrade is a global system that connects farmers and workers, businesses, and consumers to ensure fair terms of trade with the aim of tackling poverty, and issues like modern slavery, to deliver positive outcomes for all. Through the purchase of Fairtrade products for our offices, such as SereniTEA and Jasper Coffee, we’re demonstrating our commitment to ethical business practices. Last week, we celebrated our Fairtrade Supporting Workplace status with a Fairtrade x Tony's Chocolonely pop up in our Melbourne office where delicious chocolate was enjoyed by our employees. As outlined in our Modern Slavery Statement, we remain committed to addressing the potential risks in our operations and supply chain → https://lnkd.in/gncd5W2Y #Fairtrade #Governance #ModernSlavery

Our large business customers are rapidly seeking more sustainable energy solutions as they electrify and decarbonise to meet their net zero commitments, while securing reliable power and lowering their costs. Earlier this year, our team partnered with Woolworths Supermarkets Fairy Meadows on a 165.6 KW carport solar system. This cutting-edge renewable solution not only offers a practical benefit for customers at Fairy Meadows, but also generates enough power to meet a significant portion of the store’s energy needs. Today we announced our results for FY24, reporting Underlying Profit after tax of $812 million. Several factors contributed to this result, including significantly improved performance from our operations sites - underpinned by an Equivalent Availability Factor of 85.8% (a 9-percentage point improvement on FY23) and flexibility improvements following investment in upgrades. Strong growth across energy and telecommunications services also contributed to this strong result. Pleasingly, our improved operating cash flow - due to higher earnings - has driven lower debt, providing greater capacity to continue investing in the transformation of our energy portfolio and supporting our customers. We also announced the acquisition of two Australian businesses that includes 6.1 GW of grid-scale BESS projects; 1.8 GW of solar projects and a 250 MW onshore wind project. We believe this presents strong optionality for AGL, focusing on firming capacity which will be required to firm new renewable generation as thermal baseload generation exits the NEM. I’d like to recognise everyone at AGL for all their hard work and continued focus on delivering our strategy. #AGL #Results #FullYearResults

On the weekend the NGFNL hosted the first AGL Loy Yang and Mindfull Australia Ltd Mental Health Round. I had a great day out at Rosedale FNC representing AGL and supporting Mindfull Aus to raise awareness and foster positive mental health. The custom designed Captains football jumpers and green netball bibs looked amazing on the day, well done to all clubs for participating. Suicide is the leading cause of death among people aged 15–44 years and is something that has touched several clubs in the league, including my own at YYNFNC. It's vital we create supportive environments where everyone feels safe to discuss there mental health openly. I look forward to continuing the conversation and supporting this round again next year! #mentalhealthawareness #supportingcommunity

AGL has one of the largest demand response programs in Australia with more than 151,000 customers signed up to AGL’s Peak Energy Rewards. A demand response program recognises that small changes can make a difference in supporting the energy grid during peak times. For customers who participate and reduce their energy use during peak events, AGL rewards them with up to $10 in bill credits. In the last financial year, AGL saw a 36% increase in customers signing up to our Peak Energy Rewards program and around one in two participants took part in events. It was such a great day out at the JobSkills Expo on Tuesday. We had our wonderful apprentices manning our booth demonstrating their skills and sharing insights into their experiences working at AGL Loy Yang. It was great to see so many Gippsland students engaged and interested in exploring a trade in the energy sector. Thanks to Baw Baw Latrobe Local Learning & Employment Network for hosting another amazing event again this year. #locallearning #engagement #gippsland

As we celebrate Disability Pride Month, and the successes and achievements of so many people who live with disability, we’re proud to share a story of one of our own team members. Bond.. Ashok Bondili life changed forever back in 2020 when he had a catastrophic fall while cleaning the gutters on his roof, leaving Ashok a father of two, with life-changing injuries. It was a long, hard-fought road back to recovery for Ashok, one of our Digital Technology Engineering Testers. Through his personal resilience and the collective support of family, friends, and colleagues at AGL Ashok returned to work this year following some workplace adjustments and a well-supported Return to Work plan. “I was welcomed with open arms and warm smiles. I’m grateful for the support from everyone at AGL, my rehab team, the hospital, the team at JobAccess, and of course, my family,” said Ashok. Thank you, Ashok, for your continued contribution to AGL, and to your teammates in supporting you and helping to make AGL one of Australia’s best places to work.
