And that's a wrap on day 2 of The Hatchery (Hub) Public Sector Women in Leadership Summit. What a summit it has been. Highlights today include (as you can guess from Helena Cain's photo): - Julia Gillard starting with thanking the Australian Public Service and letting the women in the room know that our public service is world class. Delving into equality with facts as tools for change and then providing her tips for leadership which are: being clear on the values that drive you and your guiding purpose, maintaining your sense of self, carving out quiet time and change and strategic thinking cannot be done in isolation its collective and collaborative. The room was hanging on every word, it was captivating, inspiring and delivered with sincerity, honesty and passion. - Helen Clark sharing her leadership story from growing up on a rural farm in New Zealand (NZ) to being one of eight women (out of 92 Ministers) in the NZ government and then the perseverance, resilience and dedication that lead to her become NZ's Prime Minister some 18 years later. Her tips for leaders include- having a sense of purpose (be clear on your WHY), being resilient (and make sure you have a support network), believing in yourself, making sure you always have perspective and finally remembering to look after yourself. There was so much wisdom, experience and power in her story and advice which left those in the room feeling grateful and determined. There were so many other insights and many more incredible speakers, so we would encourage those in the Public Sector who missed out to come along to February's summit which will feature Julie Bishop and Jacinda Arden. Supporting this summit and the L.E.A.D awards has been an absolute privilege. It aligns so closely with the guiding purpose of ARTEMIS PARTNERS (AU) which is to be change we want to see and to support positive, female-led change in our workplaces and communities. We'd like to also say a big thank you to the The Hatchery (Hub), it has been a pleasure to Sponsor this summit, and we look forward to working with you next year. #THEHATCHERYLEADERSHIP #THEHATCHERYLEADAWARDS

Day One of The Hatchery (Hub)'s Public Sector Women in Leadership Summit and we are bursting with thoughts, inspiration and awe. Some of our highlights include: Vonda Malone her leadership journey as a Torres Straits women and key advice on walking with people not in front of them. Jim Betts, honest and authentic approach to leadership - where trust in central, fear is toxic and culture is not static, it requires constant work. And tips on anti-mentoring where you take the example of the worst person you have worked for and make a list of those traits and for your leadership make sure you do the exact opposite. Leigh Sales on storytelling and confidence - pushing the boundaries of your capability can be difficult but once you get through to the other side you realise you can do it and you grow personally and professionally. And Lady Theresa May being open to opportunities, maintaining who you are as a Leader and the need for greater recognition for the skill sets of women and support to keep women in the workforce. Now on to the L.E.A.D Awards and then Day two - can't wait! #THEHATCHERYLEADERSHIP #THEHATCHERYLEADAWARDS

"I put my hands up for jobs that were well beyond my skillset, and that gave me great opportunities to learn, and I gathered a breadth of experience.   It wasn't always about promotion, but it was always about working with great leaders who I wanted to learn from.   That breadth of experience set me up very well for my senior executive roles.   "Take hold of opportunities to learn with both hands."   Nerida O'Loughlin PSM discussing her 25-year APS career. Great start to the day with The Hatchery (Hub).

What a fantastic collection of speakers and topics at the AHRI National Convention 2024! We listened to engaging conversations about trust and integrity, capability building, and heard different perspectives on the recurring workplace question of “who owns the culture?” Some highlights from today’s public sector program included: Belinda Casson talking about the importance of managing psychosocial safety in challenging and unpredictable work environments Sue Williamson sharing her insights into intentional management and how this can support flexible working through conversations about Place, Space and Time And spending the day with my ARTEMIS PARTNERS (AU) Melbourne colleague, Mizaan Ahmad of course! #ahrince2024 #futureready

It took 30 external stakeholders from across the country, a network of internal interested parties, 5 executives, and 4 Artemis team members to collaborate on effectively engaging industry to achieve Australia’s most significant jump forward in military capability since the end of World War II. We asked our clients to step right outside the box, they did, and they continue to generate positive feedback from industry.  Doing things differently isn’t easy, but differently can be better, and despite the challenges to demonstrate the value of stretching into new approaches, this one was worth every conversation.  Well done to the executive decision-makers and industry leaders who stretched with us. #strategy #artemispartners #leadership #defence #defenceindustry #stakeholderengagement #strategiccommunication
