    Head of Legal, Professional Services Leading professional services firm is seeking a Head of Legal or Senior Legal Counsel for their Australian operations. This will be a sole role reporting directly into the COO and can be located in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne and is an environment that is supportive of hybrid working arrangements. The main responsibilities of this role are: - Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. - Contract management and administration. - Providing legal advice to the business in all areas including employment, intellectual property, information technology, privacy and the Corporations Act. - Assisting in preparation of tenders, proposals and submissions. - Undertaking research and providing a high level of legal analysis. - Managing disputes and external counsel. - Monitoring regulatory updates that are relevant to the business; and - Providing internal training to various business units. The ideal candidate would have a background in general corporate/commercial with some employment law. You will have strong commercial acumen and the ability to work efficiently and autonomously. Most importantly you will enjoy and be able to engage with all levels of the business in a practical and down to earth manner. C6-10 years’ + PQE level experience and remuneration c$220K + super.     Legal Counsel, Financial Services Large Australian financial services organisation is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel position on a fixed term contract basis for a duration of 6 months. The role joins a small team and reports into the Head of Legal. Responsibilities include: - Advise and provide guidance to business lines on legal and regulatory obligations relevant to the Trustee and Fund, including those arising under the Corporations Act, Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act, other related legislation and relevant regulatory standards and guidance - Review product disclosures, promotional materials, and other member communications - Advise on incidents and other regulatory matters, and assist with liaising with regulators where required - Provide ongoing legal support to regulatory projects as required - Manage the timely review and negotiation of contracts and legal documents - Support senior members of the Legal team in managing litigated matters and disputes, including liaising with external legal advisers - Assist with providing legal training to business lines Seeking c3-5 years PQE level experience within financial services and ideally some knowledge superannuation funds/superannuation trustees. This is an opportunity to work for a global stock broking business and have oversight of risk and compliance across the Asia Pacific region based out of Australia. This role is pivotal to embedding a culture of risk management within the business. Key focus is to provide an effective operational risk framework and tools to the business in enhancing the risk management decision process, including the ongoing development, and monitoring of risk policies, risk methodology and tools in line with best practice, local and group policies, and legal requirements, whilst identifying, tracking, reporting, and coordinating the treatment of key risks.Also assisting the of Business Continuity Management (BCM) function, the role also requires supporting the BCM Committee to ensure an effective BCM framework that is consistent with regulatory requirements and industry best practices/standards and is continually developed, maintained, and adhered to across the business. A minimum of 2 years' work experience in an operational risk role coming from banking and financial services or working within an audit or risk consulting within professional services.     Risk Manager, Property & Funds Leading ASX listed and fully integrated property group with longstanding experience in property investment and funds management are seeking an experienced Risk Manager. Reporting into the Head of Risk and Compliance you will join a small team and take ownership of the following responsibilities: - Maintain and manage the risk management content in the RMS, including - Incident reporting and follow-up and internal audit action tracking. - Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to ensure smooth operational performance - Coordinate risk management registers and control registers and ensure consistency and quality of data - Coordinate annual and ad hoc risk management training - Preparation of analytical reports as per Group reporting requirements - Assist with assurance system reviews and improvements - Management of the outsourced Internal Audit function - Facilitate the internal audit program and action management of same. - - - Liaise with external providers as required. - Preparation of quarterly Board and ARCC reporting - Working across the Risk, Compliance and WH&S functions to deliver key projects and outcomes The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ risk experience coming from either funds or broader financial services gained inhouse or from within professional services. The position is general corporate and commercial contracts in nature and will advise on corporate transactions and draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts. This role will see you utilising your professional qualification and experience to provide day-to-day assistance with legal matters. The role joins one other lawyer reporting into the General Counsel and encompasses legal matters such as: Supporting the M&A legal due diligence process. Reviewing customer and supplier contract and the preparation of departures schedule. Ensuring that the corporate governance is maintained with appropriate scheduling, recording and minuting of Board, BARC, Remuneration and Nomination meetings.
