Australians are now one step closer to accessing a new weapon in the war against scammers, with the design of the new Confirmation of Payee service now complete! The service will operate as a traffic light system for customers when transferring money, as it cross checks the intended account name, BSB and account number before the payment is made. This significant tool will help prevent scams and frauds resulting from misdirected payments, as well as reducing mistaken payments by consumers. The centralised system is being built and tested this year and will be introduced by banks and other financial institutions from early 2025. Fire. Strength. Renewal. This year’s #Garma Festival delivered on its themes big time. Ten lucky AP+ people were there to immerse themselves in the activities, talks, culture and conversations. In a pivotal moment, as indigenous Australians seek ways to move forward following the Voice referendum, our team listened, learned, laughed and cried. They were overwhelmed by the remarkable generosity, patience and wisdom of their hosts, the Yolnu people. Fire was evident in the passion, strength was there in the determination to find solutions and there was a clear, heartfelt commitment to renewal for a better future. The experience gave us plenty to reflect on, including our own, ongoing dedication to reconciliation. And our team’s campfire-making abilities?
