The End Street Sleeping Collaboration and Northern Rivers Community Foundation are seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the newly established Northern Rivers Zero initiative – a collaborative project that will use local knowledge and the internationally proven Advance to Zero approach to ensure rough sleeping becomes rare, brief and once-off in the region. The Project Coordinator will drive the critical start-up phase of this project, working alongside a range of stakeholders including local/regional organisations, government agencies, councils and community leaders. Led by expert Leanne Mitchell CF, this session will explore how councils can establish foundations for effective homelessness responses, from advocacy to prevention. Was so great to be in the nations capital for the last few days to meet with political and public sector leaders and share the work of the amazing Advance To Zero communities across Australia. Was able to share the importance of ending homlessness being the ambition of the national housing and homelessness plan being developed with new minister Clare O’Neil. 📣 This week is Homelessness Week. We're in the midst of a housing crisis, but we know that ending homelessness is possible. Right now, over 122,000 people in Australia are without a home on any given night. This isn't just a statistic – it's a call to action. Homelessness is preventable and solvable.
