  • Babcock supports R U OK? Day as a reminder that any day is an opportunity to meaningfully connect and lend support to those around us. As an organisation, we are continually looking at ways to safeguard the physical and psychological health, safety, and wellbeing of the people who work with and for Babcock. In 2024, we’ve launched our Psychosocial Health and Safety Commitment Plan, which includes: ⭐Establishing a Mental Health and Peer Support Program where our employees can seek out a trained peer to have supportive conversations - any day. ⭐Implementing training and tools to ask our staff “R U OK at work?” so that we can better understand the workplace factors that impact wellbeing and take action to eliminate or minimise risks to the physical and psychological health and safety of our people. ⭐Ensuring our people understand options for reporting and resolving concerns about factors that impact their health at work. Together we acknowledge our shared responsibilities and roles in promoting an inclusive and supportive safety culture. A conversation could save a life. • Babcock Australia & New Zealand has demonstrated the agility of its operations and depth of its regional supply chain after successfully delivering maintenance works on two Royal Navy craft operating in Australian waters. In May, Babcock was tasked with an eight-week maintenance program on a pair of Pacific 24 Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) in Far North Queensland, as part of an ongoing contract between Babcock International Group and Britain’s Royal Navy. To enable the timely completion of essential maintenance on these boats, Babcock utilised its collaborative supply chain relationships to engage Serco to support the maintenance works in Cairns. Babcock Managing Director Marine, Simon Spratt , said: “This contract is a good example of where Babcock’s international reach and regional expertise combine perfectly to provide cross border support to our foreign allies and visiting defence forces.” The craft are known for their high performance and durability in demanding marine environments and are used in high-speed rescues, sea boat and boarding operations, force protection, stores and passenger transfers and diving support. • Babcock builds key relationships to kick start Global Supply Chain Program pursuits 🌎 Our Global Supply Chain team have spent four weeks in the UK and Europe to identify specific export opportunities for Australian #SMEs within Babcock’s international operations. The team joined Team Defence Australia’s delegation to the International Defence Industry and Military Technology Exhibition, MSPO, in Poland earlier this month, where it met with exhibiting Australian suppliers and potential international customers to promote the #GSCP. It also discussed how the program may be able to value add to international supply chains through the offerings of Babcock’s Australian supplier base. “Ultimately, we are all here to support our Australian supplier base and achieve the goals of our government customers. We want to create sustained in-region support to service both Babcock’s global business and visiting international customers so they have continuous access to a vast array of science, technology and engineering disciplines to achieve their outcomes,” Babcock Australasia Global Supply Chain Program Manager Kellie Jenkins said. • We are delighted to continue a long-standing association with the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) after signing a two-year contract extension to service its appliances and equipment. Babcock manages the scheduled maintenance of lifesaving firefighting assets on behalf of the MFS, including its fleet of 104 fire trucks, buses, and emergency and rescue equipment to ensure operational readiness. We also manage the MFS’s inventory, provides technical and engineering input for asset studies, and oversees the mid-life refurbishment of appliances. Babcock Australasia CEO Andrew Cridland says: “Babcock’s Australasian business is headquartered in South Australia and almost half of our Australian staff live right here in Adelaide, so we know and understand the value the Metropolitan Fire Service brings to our community.” Read more >> https://lnkd.in/eRTXtVeu

⭐Model delivery of Counter CBRNE program proves template for success.⭐ Babcock’s exemplary delivery of Counter Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (C-CBRNE) asset management and solutions has led to a significant expansion of the critical Defence program, with dozens of additional technologies and equipment now falling under its management umbrella. Since securing the Prime Vendor agreement with the Australian Defence Force in 2019, we have grown the remit and output of the program by more than 400 per cent, working closely with Defence and industry to identify capability gaps caused by technology obsolescence, as well as sourcing and acquiring new C-CBRNE tools to sharpen Defence’s counter response to existing and emerging threats. A new purpose-built warehouse facility in Adelaide, scheduled to be complete by the end of the year, will also further increase Babcock’s capacity to support as well as provide increased speed of availability of current equipment. • Buzz in the Torres Strait as Babcock delivers two new ‘dragonfly’ helicopters 🚁 We officially handed over the Leonardo AW139 helicopters to Queensland Health in Cairns this week, where they are being custom fitted with specialist medical equipment before heading to the Torres Strait. The new aircraft can fly faster and further than the existing fleet and have enhanced retrieval, search, and rescue capabilities, assisting crews to respond quicker to those needing emergency assistance. Colourful livery designed by renowned indigenous artist Alick Tipoti makes the helicopters instantly recognisable and includes a distinctive dragonfly motif painted on the underside of both aircraft. The dragonfly is known in the Torres Strait as ‘Kuyup’ – a term also used by islander peoples to describe a helicopter. Together, the two aircraft will form the Lagaw (Island) Kuyup (Helicopter) Rescue Service. Alick’s artwork – commissioned by Queensland Health and sponsored by Babcock, Leonardo helicopters and LCI– aims to illustrate the positive impact helicopter services have in supporting the Torres Strait community. Read the media release here >> https://lnkd.in/ewfzetYN *APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY* As part of our ongoing commitment to the Torres Strait community, Babcock is also offering an apprenticeship in either avionics or mechanical aeroskills. This four-year apprenticeship will lead to a Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) accreditation for the successful applicant. For more information about the apprenticeship and apply >> https://lnkd.in/e3V_qE25
