Congratulations to three Australian representatives selected to serve as technical and officiating staff at the upcoming Paralympics! 👏 Don Perriman will lead the Tournament Technical Committee as the Technical Delegate. Paris will mark an incredible twelfth Paralympics for Don, who brings a wealth of experience with him. Basketball New South Wales Hall of Famer Matt Wells has been an integral part of the Paralympic scene since his debut at the 2004 Athens Games and will take on the role of Referee Supervisor. Blaine Krapljanov, a highly respected ref from the West, will be officiating his second Paralympics. He brings over a decade of experience in the National Wheelchair Basketball League to the role. 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐁𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 🗣️ Basketball WA is launching the "Don't Be That Parent" campaign during our WABL Finals, starting Sunday. We know the impact parents, caregivers, and supporters can have on our young ballers, officials, and coaches. It's time to lead by example, show respect for all involved, and make the game enjoyable for everyone. Supporting junior basketball doesn’t mean yelling at our referees or screaming from the sidelines. Don’t call out “FOUL” or “REF”. Don’t be that parent or supporter. Encourage our kids, support our officials and be a positive role model. Good luck to all our WABL teams this weekend! #bwaofficials

Last week, Basketball WA, Perth Lynx, and Perth Wildcats collaborated to host a lunch-and-learn session for Members of Parliament at Parliament House. This event offered a prime platform to spotlight the sport of basketball and further emphasised the need for facilities to accommodate our expanding community. We thank Jessica Stojkovski and her team for their hospitality and all attendees' participation. #basketballwa
