    Allow us to introduce ourselves. We’re BetterBriefs, an advisory and training business dedicated to helping marketers brief better and realise more impactful ideas. Founded by former agency strategists Pieter-Paul von Weiler and Matt Davies, they bring global experience from major agencies, with 20+ Effie recognitions, including 2 Grand Effies, and 1 IPA Effectiveness award. After experiencing thousands of poor briefs firsthand, Pieter-Paul and Matt conducted the first global and only study on the state of marketing briefs. The findings uncovered that 33% of marketing budgets are wasted due to misdirected work and unclear briefs. To combat this, we’ve developed a range of free resources, tools, and the BetterBriefs Academy to train marketers.     NBC x Snoop Dogg at the Olympics was pure marketing genius…. NBC turned Snoop Dogg into a Special Correspondent for the Paris Olympics and the world loved it. From crip-walking while carrying the Olympic torch to hopping in the pool with Olympic legend Michael Phelps, delivering hilarious badminton commentary and twinning with Martha Steward in equestrian gear. So many viral moments were created by CNBC , the official US TV and streaming broadcaster of the Games. The question is….what could the brief have been that led to this great idea? Here’s our take. Objective: Drive viewership of the Olympics via NBC’s channels. Key Problem for comms to solve: Viewership of previous Olympics was mainly driven by sports enthusiasts and older generations; for the 2020 Summer Olympics, NBC’s median viewership age for primetime coverage was 50+ years old(!).   Younger audiences didn't think of the Olympic Games as fresh, interesting, or entertaining; they didn't really care about the Games. Target Audience: Gen Y, Millennials and Gen Z viewers, especially non-heavy sports viewers. Solution: "Follow the Dog" with Snoop Dogg as your guide for a unique, entertaining, and unmissable Olympics experience.
