Big day for Biomass Projects as The Australian Financial Review in association with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) announces Biomass Projects as a 2024 Sustainability Leader, winning the INNOVATOR TO WATCH award for engineered carbon removal! The awards celebrate businesses pushing the boundaries of innovation to tackle the world’s biggest climate challenges. With submissions from ASX20 companies, multinationals, early-stage ventures and public institutions, Biomass Projects punches well above its weight when it comes to sustainable innovations that lead to environmental and social outcomes whilst creating tangible business value for stakeholders. Biomass Projects is set to become the world’s largest developer of biomass carbon removal by transforming Western Australia’s largest weed infestation into biochar, removing >10 million tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere. Our Mardie Project, which is exclusively focussed on Carbon Dioxide Removal #CDR is the first of what we hope will be many across regional Australia, with future projects producing more CDR and Metchar to help decarbonise steel production. Congratulations to @Richard Paterson, a visionary leader and innovator to watch! #AFRleaders #BCG #sustainableleadership #cleantech #climatechange #carbon #venturecapital #decarbonization #biochar #sustainability

About us
Biomass Projects transforms Weeds of National Significance and Invasive Species into high-grade biochar at an industrial scale. Our first project in Western Australia aims to remove more than 10 million tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere. The carbon sink created by biochar is captured and stored for c. 1,000 years. This industrial scale carbon sequestration is considered critical to reducing global warming. Biomass Projects is an accredited supplier of Carbon Removal Certificates (CORCs) with Puro.Earth, the world’s leading platform for engineered carbon removal. We are also committed to advancing the transition to green steel. Our metallurgical grade of biochar (MetChar) is a sustainable alternative, replacing coal in steel production, assisting in decarbonisation of a hard to abate, yet critical sector.

Really looking forward, and proud to be sponsoring, this CDR event with Puro in Singapore. How we decarbonise and remove CO2 from the atmosphere is an important conversation and Biochar and Puro's methodology for it are front and centre. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
🌏 Puro.earth is hosting the first-ever Puro APAC #CDR Summit in Singapore on 17th April, dedicated to the rapidly evolving carbon removal sector. 🤝 With just over 15% of all registered suppliers on Puro.earth located in APAC and a growing number of buyers, financiers, and traders moving into the CDR market this event aims to build networks and support the growing removals industry. 👏This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors Standard Chartered, Alcom Carbon Markets, Biomass Projects, and Biocare ✍ Get more info and register here: https://hubs.ly/Q02q55PQ0

Biomass Projects reposted this
Well, I was very glad to make the session yesterday following a TayTay and weather impacted late arrival! It was great to talk about how Biomass Projects is achieving global decarbonisation while working with the local indigenous communities and restoring ecosystems. I was also proud to share progress of our Pre-FEED, which will be completed in the coming weeks. Boots on the ground, skin in the game, shovels at the ready. We don’t just talk, we action what we believe in, that’s TAKE Global 😊 Thank you Geoff Matthews and Sustainable Industrial Manufacturing Asia Pacific (SIM-PAC). Thanks also Elizabeth Rose for moderating the session.

You know it's real when Puro mention it! Getting closer to first CORC delivery! Have just seen some of the designs from the engineers, it's hard to fathom the scale of what we are planning to do with this first project. We look forward to sharing some of the design work soon.
Puro Accelerate is our program to scale the carbon removal ecosystem by enabling buyers to purchase future CORCs from projects in development, and help new carbon removal projects secure funding through Offtake Agreements. Introducing Biomass Projects, an Australian company committed to produce CO2 Removal Certificates and bio-carbon products from significant weeds, invasive species, and waste biomass! 🌎 As their first project, they plan to restore 150,000 hectares in 20 years, enhancing soil with biochar and earning 2.77 CORCs per ton. At peak, the project will produce over 525,000 CORCs each year, boosting employment and honoring Traditional Owners' access to heritage sites. Advance commitments to new projects maximize the impact of your carbon credit purchases. It helps you secure your future supply of CORCs while contributing directly to the creation of new net-negative facilities that could not exist without your support. 2024 is not yet 2 weeks old and great things are happening. I'm so excited about the work we will do with the Nature Positive Economy CRC. So much going on at the moment - stay tuned for more updates.
🌿 Exciting News! Nature Positive Economy CRC proudly welcomes Biomass Projects as a new core partner. 🌱 🔍 Biomass Projects is redefining landscape rehabilitation in Australia, turning woody weeds into economic opportunities. Their innovative approach focuses on creating value in the removal process of weeds, key to sustainable nature repair projects. 💡 With their unique solutions, including biochar use in soil, they're capitalising on decarbonisation and the new Nature Repair market. Their collaboration with Nature Positive Economy CRC spans across opportunity identification, biodiversity assessment tools, and financial modelling. 🤝 Meet the visionary behind Biomass Projects, Richard Paterson. His expertise in carbon capture and land restoration in Northern Australia is pivotal for our collective mission. Richard brings over a decade of experience in partnering with Traditional Owners and developing commercial agricultural projects. 🗣️ Richard Paterson shares, “This is a transformative time for environmental efforts. Australia's unique position allows us to contribute globally while restoring our own lands. We're excited to initiate a large-scale supply chain with Nature Positive Economy CRC, offering benefits for all stakeholders.” 🌍 Together, we are committed to developing impactful projects and models for a sustainable future. Carbon Removal (CDR) was high on the agenda at @COP28 with climate scientists agreeing that scaling Carbon Removal projects is critical to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Biomass Projects is set to become the world’s leading Biomass CDR developer, removing >10m tonnes of CO 2 from the atmosphere by transforming a Weed of National Significance into high-grade biochar at an industrial scale not seen before anywhere in the world. Biomass Projects has recently raised its first round of capital, led by Dennis and Kristy at TAKE Global. The funding has enabled plans to build the world’s largest biochar facility in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
