We are thrilled to announce the release of the final International Terminal Request for Proposal (RFP), inviting specialty retail operators to bid for 10 premier opportunities across two levels. Our aim is to bring the finest global offerings to #Brisbane while showcasing the best of Queensland to the world. To deliver this vision, seven new specialty retail sites will be available on the Level 3 departures ‘High Street’, along with two on Level 4. We welcome interest from a cross-section of brands and products that can align with the ‘Australian, Holiday Enablers, Aspirational Luxury and Considered Gifts’ retail pillars to take the new offering to the next level, whilst complementing the new food & beverage offerings being introduced throughout the terminal. The retail refresh and expansion comes as plans are finalised for the upgrade of the International Terminal, as part of the $5 billion #FutureBNE transformation of the entire airport. • 🙌 That moment when 6.5 tonnes worth of checked bag screening equipment with standard 3 technology, is lifted onto your purpose-built steel frame mezzaine level inside your International Terminal Baggage Makeup Area. 🥳 For non-aviation folks, think, first-time pool installation being craned into a tight spot in your backyard over your neighbour's roof 🙌😆. This is one of four brand new Rapiscan Systems checked bag screening machines being installed at the International Terminal as part of our airport-wide baggage system overhaul due to be completed before December 2025. 🚧 Find out more about this #FutureBNE project: https://brnw.ch/21wLlXd 📧 Sign up to stay up-to-date on our progress as we build your Future BNE: https://brnw.ch/21wLlXe

  • Major maintenance on our Legacy Runway has moved to the city-end of the runway starting with line-marking works to shorten the runway length by blacking out the 'piano keys' and other lines in the construction area. This is to create a safe working environment to undertake the concrete slab removal and replacement while keeping the other end of the runway open for some flights to operate as normal. All wide-body aircraft will now have to use the New Parallel Runway to take-off and land while this construction is happening. Weather permitting, these major works will conclude by the end of September. 📣 PSA: People may notice temporary changes to where aircraft fly during this construction. 🚧 Stay informed about this #FutureBNE project: https://lnkd.in/gSrqbsu4

Our Business Leadership Team and Commercial Team recently enjoyed a property tour of the Australian Federal Police’s canine facility at Airport Industrial Park. This is the first ‘Tenant Tour’; an initiative to hear from existing tenants firsthand about their operations on airport (there is currently over 600 businesses). AFP shared lots of insights to the day-to-day operations and the team were fortunate to with meet their very clever canine colleagues, who are trained to detect currency, explosives, and technology. One interesting fact from the tour included, meeting ‘Georgia’, Australia’s first canine to successfully apprehend someone hiding technology (USB) on them. Thank you again to the AFP team for a great morning! #BrisbaneAirport #BNE #AFP Martin Ryan Natalie Myatt Sandy Hunter

  • We are excited to welcome The Independent, the latest innovative dining concept to be introduced as part of Brisbane Airport’s Domestic Terminal retail development, offering sweeping views over the tarmac. Delivered in partnership with SSP Australia & New Zealand, the new restaurant reimagines the airport dining scene as a premier destination for nationally acclaimed chefs and emerging local talents to showcase their signature dishes and experiment with new flavours over a seasonal varied period residency. To celebrate the opening, The Independents’ inaugural headline chef, the iconic Luke Mangan OAM, served up some of the signature dishes from his custom menu including Mooloolabah prawn rolls, tuna sashimi tacos, seafood towers for two and succulent steaks. This is complemented by what is now Brisbane Airports most extensive beverage offering, pouring more than 50 plus local spirits, alongside a rotating menu of local and independent craft beer, wines from Brisbane City Winery and a comprehensive low and non-alcoholic beverage menu. • Jetstar Airways has commenced services between #Brisbane and Melbourne Avalon Airport providing easy access to Victoria’s famous Surf Coast region, Bellarine Peninsular and Melbourne.  The daily Airbus A320 service will provide more than 2500 new low fares seats each week between the two destinations.  The launch of the Jetstar flights follows a landmark partnership between Jetstar and Brisbane Airport which unlocked about half a million new seats a year between Brisbane and some of Jetstar’s most popular international destinations. #BrisbaneAirport #BNE #Jetstar #Aviation
