We’re delighted to share that Broadsheet Media was named Media Brand of the Year at last night’s 2024 Mumbrella Awards. This award recognises all the work we've done over the past 12 months which includes the launch of our editorial digital issues; Serve, the two-week dining festival in partnership with Mastercard; our first ever event with Melbourne Food & Wine Festival (which sold out in under 10 minutes, one of the fastest-selling events on the 2024 program); our partnership with Domain to relaunch the Domain Review Magazine and much more. The jury said "[we] were blown away by the clear and comprehensive case with creative and effective work on point. True innovation with the product that is keeping them relevant and allowing them to give back to the hospitality industry. Strongest work from a strong resilient team.” This is a huge achievement during a difficult time in the media industry and a testament to the work of our brilliant and talented team. Thank you to Mumbrella.

Broadsheet Media is delighted to announce the promotion of Sian Whitaker to managing director. Sian has been with Broadsheet since 2018 and has served as general manager for the past three and a half years.   "My focus will be on making sure our great ideas translate to real results. As always, I'm committed to fostering a high-performance culture and driving business success," Whitaker said.   "I can't wait to see what we achieve next."   Broadsheet CEO Nick Shelton said Whitaker's elevation is a testament to the trust and confidence the company places in her. "This transition also allows me to focus on exploring new entrepreneurial opportunities for Broadsheet. I couldn't be more excited for this next chapter in our journey," he said.

In our latest instalment of 'Spotlight On' we chat to home and lifestyle editor, Jo Walker. City? Melbourne What do you do at Broadsheet?  I spend most of my time editing the weekly print magazine we produce in partnership with Domain Review. Lots of feature stories and home decor pieces. What is a restaurant you’ve loved recently? I live perilously close to CDMX in Brunswick East, so it's a constant taco love affair for me - the chicharron norteno is as good as I've had in Mexico City. Best coffee in Melbourne? I'm gonna say True North in Coburg, because I appreciate great coffee soundtracked by metal and post-punk. (There's even a KISS pinball machine.) It's my happy place. What upcoming events are you looking forward to? Keen to see some films at Melbourne International Film Festival (especially the Warren Ellis doco premiere), and I already can't wait for Heilung at the Palais in November. A Viking industrial-folk band collective is sure to be memorable. Where are you travelling to next? One of my best friends conveniently just bought a house in Belfast with plenty of spare rooms. So it might be an Irish Christmas?

This week, in Broadsheet's latest print edition with Domain Review, we visit the newly renovated bayside Melbourne home of Pipi’s Kiosk chef Jordan Clay and Neighbours actor Naomi Rukavina. The couple – who’ve been together for six years – have slowly made the place their own. Inside we find colourful art, coral walls, Swedish designer furniture, and a very fun (very green) functional kitchen. A huge shoutout to the wonderful Broadsheet team that brought this feature to life: Ella Witchell and Ben Siero for their creative direction, Gitika Garg and Gideon Cohen for producing the feature, and Jessica Kirsopp for managing the team. And, of course, our Domain Review editor Jo Walker. Plus, a huge thank you to our photographer Hilary Walker and our writer Leta Keens. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g-Q48zzQ

Is Superfreak Sydney’s coolest cafe? “We all play favourites, whether you admit it or not. And after two mealtimes spent at Superfreak in its opening week, I’m putting mine out there … the just-opened cafe … is my new fave.” This week, Broadsheet’s Sydney food and drink editor Grace MacKenzie delves into Marrickville’s latest daytime addition. Here’s what to expect at the new spot from Daniel Harrison and Michael Ico, co-owners of Soulmate and Splash. (Which may just be your new favourite, too.) In Broadsheet’s latest digital issue, State of Style, we profile one of the next big names in fashion, celebrate 20 great homegrown labels, spend a month dressing like the Danish, find out what happens to an emerging designer when Taylor Swift wears their dress and more. This fashion and beauty issue is proudly sponsored by Dove – and the first time we've had an exclusive presenting partner since launching digital issues in December 2023. Dove, a pioneer in challenging unrealistic beauty standards, naturally aligns with the incredible stories within this issue. Read more: https://lnkd.in/geMtWwkv

Broadsheet and Intrepid Travel have teamed up to launch Broadsheet Local Time – a hub within our travel content vertical dedicated to international and domestic exploration. This partnership marks our biggest foray into international travel content to date with Broadsheet Australia editor Nick Connellan, creative solutions manager James Williams, and other members of the Broadsheet team travelling on Intrepid trips to India, Japan, Italy, Morocco, Peru and Tasmania. Each destination will feature supporting articles and social videos capturing what these destinations have to offer through a local lens. The Local Time hub will be evergreen, allowing for opportunities to collaborate with Intrepid and other tourism bodies in discovering new countries and experiences. Group sales and partnerships manager, Matt Phillips, said Broadsheet's audience consistently requests more international travel content, making it a top priority. "Partnering with global leader, Intrepid to establish an entirely new destination on Broadsheet, focusing on international exploration, is incredibly exciting," he said. Expanding our partnership with Intrepid allows us to highlight the impact that travel has on the global economy and uncover the best local experiences that can only be accessed through Intrepid.” You can read more here - https://lnkd.in/er2GwFNC
