Standing tall at an impressive 35m, our 130T Piling Rig soared high in the Melbourne CBD skyline at our Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) site! We recently wrapped up the piling preparations, navigating several live service relocations and unexpected challenges during demolition and excavation. We imported crushed rock to construct the piling pad, ready for the 130-ton piling rig to do its job.  At 4am, under a special out of hours permit we delivered the Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) rig and mast components, towering 35m over the Melbourne CBD. Over three days, we drilled five CFA piles, managing concrete deliveries and spoil removal, all near the existing Coroners Court of Victoria and in close proximity to an existing structure. Each pile reached depths of over 30 meters to hit bedrock, with reinforcement cages set to the precise heights.  Despite our presence, the Coroners Court and VIFM continued to operate. 🏆 Haileybury Brighton Year 9 Building is nominated for the Master Builders Victoria Excellence Awards 2024 in the Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $10M-$15M category! 🏆 Haileybury College aimed to create a state-of-the-art educational space for their senior students with this major upgrade. The new three-storey learning and teaching building offers kitchen and project spaces on the ground floor, innovative teaching environments on the upper levels, and a rooftop housing mechanical equipment and extensive solar array. 🏆 Our project at Mount Alexander College and Flemington Primary School is up for the Master Builders Victoria Excellence Awards 2024 in the Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $20M-$30M category! This project is all about creating more enrolment opportunities and better learning environments for local students. With the new facilities, the school is gearing up for over 900 students – a 50% increase from 2019! The stunning new five-story learning hub, amphitheatre, and central square offer flexible indoor and outdoor learning and administration spaces for students and staff. The bespoke standout red-brick façade, with its seamlessly integrated curved precast panels, is a testament to the hard work and creativity of the team. Our Auckland Airport WP2 team has been buzzing with exciting initiatives and activities that reflect our commitment to health, safety, and community engagement! 🌟 We embarked on a Wellbeing Drive and carried out events focused on wellness. We kicked things off with the Heart Foundation NZ's Toolbox session, where Gloria's engaging talk on heart health struck a chord with everyone. Her insights on preventing heart disease and supporting those affected have made a significant impact on our community. We then had Maria Bernard from the New Zealand Nutrition Foundation come in and discuss healthy eating practices with the team. Her tips on meal planning and portion control, especially during Men’s Health Week, encouraged us all to make smarter food choices. 🍎🥗 We also had a fantastic External Leading Safety Training for our team and our contractors, led by Paul Hood from LJM Group. This session highlighted our collective commitment to safety, ensuring a forward-thinking, secure work environment for everyone involved. 🚧🦺 On top of all this, we had the privilege of hosting around 60 enthusiastic female students from local high schools through Infrastructure New Zealand’s ‘Girls in Infrastructure®’ program. They toured our WP2 Western Terminal project, gaining a firsthand look at Auckland Airport’s once-in-a-generation upgrade. Meeting our talented women working on-site, these future leaders were inspired by the possibilities of a career in construction. 👷♀️💪 A special mention to our team for becoming a MATES in Construction NZ Accredited Site! Last week, Built Environs kicked off the Modbury Hospital Mental Health Upgrade in Adelaide’s northeast with the sod-turning ceremony alongside Chris Picton, SA Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Karen Puvogel (Health), CEO, and Dr Christopher Hocking, Head of Oncology, from Northern Adelaide Local Health Network! 🏥🔨 We're thrilled to partner with MATES in Construction, who set up a marquee to provide support and raise awareness about mental health on site. This $117 million project is a big step in boosting inpatient care, increasing Modbury Hospital’s overnight bed capacity for Mental Health patients by 20%. Set to be completed by late 2025, the upgrade includes: ◾ A 24-bed mental health rehabilitation unit for longer therapeutic and rehabilitative care ◾ 20 additional mental health beds for older adults ◾ A new 12-chair cancer centre, inclusive of treatment and interviews, that connects through to the existing hospital Exciting times ahead for better healthcare in Adelaide's northeast! 🌟

We're pleased to announce that Built Environs and McConnell Dowell have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ara Education Charitable Trust. The MOU outlines the three areas where BE and MCD can have the most impact: 🖐 Hands-on engagement with their Forever Home Project 👷♀️ Outsourcing skilled MCD and BE employees to teach students on campus ♻ Providing recycled materials from various worksites to support their charitable builds. We are excited about this partnership and look forward to seeing what we can build together with AECT. 🙌

  One day before the start of the exciting NSC | IAKS 2024 Convention & Expo, a total of three industry tours on the topics of "SPORT SURFACES - DESIGN & INNOVATION", "COMMUNITY SPORT & LEISURE FACILITIES" and "PLAY & PLAY ENVIRONMENTS" took place in the greater Melbourne area.
