  • How incredible are these works by placegetters of the 2024 Threatened Species Art and Writing Competition (TSAC)?! 🦘🦎🦈 TSAC is an annual environmental education program delivered in partnership by Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council and Wollondilly Shire Council, with sponsorship provided by the Australian PlantBank at Botanic Gardens of Sydney The winners were announced at last week at the TSAC Award Ceremony to recognise these incredible creators and to furthermore raise awareness of National Threatened Species Day. Please join us in congratulating the winners!   • Although Child Protection Week is ending, our commitment to child safety remains firm and will continue to be a priority in everything we do. At Camden Council, every staff member regardless of their role, shares the responsibility for ensuring child safety. We are actively implementing the 10 Child Safe Standards and have already taken significant steps towards becoming a child safe organisation. We have adopted the recommendations in the Child Safe Scheme and are a Child Safe Organisation. ✅ We have zero tolerance for child abuse and maltreatment ✅ We have adopted the recommendations of the NSW Child Safe Scheme ℹ https://lnkd.in/dEUzFj7R ✅ All our staff, across every role, have had the opportunity to undertake our new child safe e-learning ✅ We are planning a number of community consultations, involving children, to determine even more ways of embedding child safety into our organisation ✅ We have introduced a new Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct for great protection ℹ https://lnkd.in/gh6Y6Aj5 ✅ We have a new process for investigating child safety concerns from the community and we encourage you to speak to us if you have any concerns Keep a look out for more news about how we are adopting the Child Safe Scheme.

  • Did you know the Camden Town Farm Masterplan is getting revised? 🌿 This is an exciting time for the farm, as we are now seeking feedback on the current Draft Masterplan for the much-loved Camden landmark. The Draft Plan identifies five strategic directions- Agricultural Operational Use, Public Access and Tourism, Educational Use, Environmental Management and Sustainability and Heritage and History.   • The Crest, Gledswood Hills will be an incredible new recreational addition to the Camden area. The first stage of the works (Stage 1A) will consist of bicycle adventure and learn to ride courses, shared pathways, shelters, landscaping, a car park and seating.
