Did you know the Camden Town Farm Masterplan is getting revised? 🌿 This is an exciting time for the farm, as we are now seeking feedback on the current Draft Masterplan for the much-loved Camden landmark. The Draft Plan identifies five strategic directions- Agricultural Operational Use, Public Access and Tourism, Educational Use, Environmental Management and Sustainability and Heritage and History. The Crest, Gledswood Hills will be an incredible new recreational addition to the Camden area. The first stage of the works (Stage 1A) will consist of bicycle adventure and learn to ride courses, shared pathways, shelters, landscaping, a car park and seating. Council is proud to announce our own Companion Animals Ranger - Emily Robinson has been recognised as Australian Institute of Local Government Rangers Officer of the Year! 🌟🏆🙌 To be recognised for this award, rangers must demonstrate: 🌟A commitment of service and an outstanding contribution to the provision of ranger services in their local government area or organisation. 🌟A high standard of integrity and efficiency in the provision of ranger services. 🌟A contribution that improves the professional status and advances the interests of ranger services. Emily has achieved all of that and more, with some of her most admirable contributions to her work including her extensive social media and networking commitments, going above and beyond safely rehoming animals (even to Tasmania!), successful completion of a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Assessment this year which has significantly improved the quality of the suitable rehoming of animals at the Animal Care Facility. This is just some of Emily’s incredible work! Please join us in congratulating Emily in her well-deserved achievement! 💛

This month we received an overwhelming amount of blankets, toys, food and more for the Camden Animal Facility donation call out 🐶🧡🐱 Council would like to sincerely thank all those who contributed to making the animals at the care facility cosy and comfortable. Curtains close on Camden Civic Centre – but only temporarily 🎭 Last week we handed over the keys to specialist contractors who will be undertaking renewal and upgrade works to the popular facility and were joined by Sally Quinnell MP. The $9.9 million project is possible thanks to $7.7 million in funding from the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program. The aim of the project is to transform the existing site into a facility that fosters and showcases creativity to support local emerging artists 🤗 Works are expected to continue for 12 months, weather permitting. This week, Council officially handed the keys for the Oran Park Leisure Centre to its manager BlueFit. The Oran Park Leisure Centre will be a significant addition to the precinct. Incorporating aquatic, indoor sports, health and fitness areas, it will be a multipurpose community facility, offering a large variety of activities and services for all age groups. It will be a place for social gathering, providing unification between the existing Library and Camden Council administration building.
