  • 🎓 Last week we hosted 4 Primary and 4 Secondary student teachers from Notre Dame University, ACU Brisbane and Southern Cross University for a CSO System Induction and school tours to showcase 'who we are' and the opportunities that present when working in the Diocese of Lismore. 🎓 The morning started in Ballina where our students were engaged by Helen Hunter and Amanda Falvey delivering our Mission and Learning and Teaching presentation. This was a fantastic opportunity to ask questions and form an understanding of teaching in the Diocese of Lismore. The cohorts then split for their respective school tours, from Ballina to Alstonville, Lismore then Casino. Feedback is that they had a wonderful day and great conversations were held as they visited our Richmond schools. All expressed a wonderful appreciation for our local schools and a genuine interest in teaching opportunities here in the future.  🏫 📚 #futureteachers #schoolvisits #DLCS #pracstudents #catholiceducation

It’s never too late to follow your passion and make a meaningful impact. #CareerChange #TeachingCareers #Inspiration #NewBeginnings

  • In a wonderful collaboration, two of our schools, St James Primary School and St Joseph’s College in Banora Point, have collaborated to create 'Tiny Towns,' an inclusive playground that fosters imagination and engagement. Designed and constructed by the Year 11 Construction team at St Joseph’s, the innovative space offers a natural, engaging environment for students from K-6 to enjoy creative play without plastic or purchased toys and has become a favorite among students and families. Ryan Campbell, Principal of St Joseph’s College, highlighted the rewarding experience for students, saying, "Our Construction students applied practical learning while serving others and bringing joy to the community." This is the second successful collaboration between the two schools, promising more exciting projects ahead. #Collaboration #Inclusive #TeamWork

  • 📚✨ Book Week Magic ✨📚 Once again, our school communities have come together to celebrate the magic of reading during Book Week 2024! We were blown away by the creativity and effort that went into the costumes this year. At Book Week celebrations across the Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools, the joy on everyone's faces was a reminder of the power of books to bring imagination to life. A big thank you to all the parents who create Book Week costumes for their children each year, and our teachers for their support in making this event truly special every year. Can you spot the book behind these costumes? #BookWeek2024 #ReadingIsMagic #ParentAppreciation

  • 🙌 Exciting milestone at St John Paul College, Coffs Harbour! 🙌 We are thrilled to announce the official opening of our newly constructed PDHPE Block and the beautifully refurbished classrooms at St John Paul College, Coffs Harbour. The new and refurbished classrooms were solemnly blessed by Most Reverend Gregory Homeming OCD, Bishop of Lismore, alongside College Principal, michael carniato. This project showcases our commitment to providing a quality learning environment for students. These new facilities are more than just buildings - they are environments designed to inspire, support, and nurture the potential of every student. We are incredibly grateful for the financial support from the NSW State Government and the Catholic Parish of St Augustine’s, that made this project possible. A special thank you to Reeman Constructions PTY LTD for their outstanding work in bringing this vision to life. We look forward to seeing our students thrive in these new spaces as they continue their educational journey. #EducationExcellence #CatholicEducation #CoffsHarbour

  • We are immensely proud that Mount St Patrick College student Isabella Millar represented the Solomon Islands in the Women’s 50m Freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games! 🌟 At just 16, Isabella also had the honor of being the flag bearer, wearing a traditional Solomon Islands dress. Currently in Year 11, Isabella balances her studies with rigorous training, showcasing dedication and spirit. Her performance in Heat 3, finishing with a time of 31:32s and ranking 67 out of 79 competitors, is a testament to her hard work.
