Geeky post alert! The chart here is from a childcare centre we manage power on. During the building design phase, there was more load projected than the network operator could connect, so DNA Energy was engaged to provide a solution. We installed secondary metering on the incoming supply, which measures the highest phase at any one time, about every 100 milliseconds. We also installed our wireless controllers on each of the external HVAC condensers. When site power creeps into the danger zone, the DNA Energy system starts to regulate HVAC load and this keeps the site under the network connection limit. As well as our real-time Command Centre dashboard showing power on each phase and critical alerts, we set up this weekly chart to be generated so we can check in on the system and see how it’s tracking. The red line is when the HVAC control system kicks in, so you can see there was an event on Saturday afternoon. This is probably the best bang for buck system we’ve delivered. Around $15k for the turnkey solution, which offset a $200k grid upgrade, a whole bunch of hassle and lowers demand charges by about 20%. #constrainedsupply #demandmanagement #gridsolutions #happycustomer

We set our business up to focus on Demand Flexibility because it’s an unsung hero of the energy and grid transition that needs more profile, more innovation, more drive.
