  • We've all heard those stories of resistance to change within organisations, but how do you handle them when they come your way? In this episode of The New Way, Dr Kate Byrne chats with change management consultant and founder of Casa de Cambio Consulting, Natasha Redman, who has a wealth of experience in navigating the turbulent seas of change within some of Australia's largest companies. In this episode, they explore strategies to better understand stakeholders, enhance change communication, build change capability, and address resistance at the root cause. Whether you're in the midst of a change initiative or want to prepare for future challenges, this episode is a goldmine of insights and practical tips. 🤯 Change management can be a rollercoaster ride, and sometimes the reactions to it can be downright baffling. Natasha shares some of her craziest experiences, including a particularly intense encounter with a resistant team. Natasha emphasises that people rarely resist change for no reason, so it's crucial to delve deeper and understand what's truly driving their resistance. It’s easy to label people as resistant, but Natasha argues that this is overly simplistic and shifts the focus away from the role of change managers and leaders in creating a conducive environment for change. Instead, she encourages change practitioners to look inward, reflect on their approach, and consider whether they've missed crucial steps in the change process. Natasha shares so many practical tips and insightful lessons on the complexities of change within organisations. We know you’re going to get so much value from this conversation. Tune in now and equip yourself with the strategies you need to navigate the unexpected with confidence. • #WorldHumanitarianDay is commemorated every year on the 19th of August, in a bid to pay tribute to (and recognise) humanitarian workers killed and injured in the course of their extremely important, life-changing and life-saving work. Today, we acknowledge all the aid and health workers who continue to provide life-saving support and protection to people most in need – both in Australia, and across the globe. Humanitarian work makes the world go round. We can’t live without it, and some people’s entire livelihoods completely rely on it. To all of our humanitarian workers – thank you for doing the work you do. You might not be recognised as often as you should, but we see you, and we are so incredibly grateful for you. • Last month, Dr Kate Byrne hosted a masterclass for #TeamEVER. Our topic? ‘Exploring The Emotional Culture Deck’. Something we often find when working with clients, partners and large organisations, is that many leaders don’t pay enough attention to how employees are (or should be) feeling. They underestimate how important emotions are when it comes to building the right team culture and employee experiences. Positive feelings influence satisfaction, connection, motivation and engagement. They’re associated with higher productivity, performance and quality. On the other hand, negative feelings usually lead to negative outcomes, poor performance and higher turnover. Emotion drives our behaviour, so when we understand and influence how we (and our people) feel at work, we can understand and influence our own (and their) behaviour. Dr Kate Byrne is a certified Emotional Culture Deck practitioner. She uses the tool to help leaders design high-performing team cultures, map stakeholder experience journeys, and facilitate change leadership. In this session, our team: ✅ Became familiar with the Emotional Culture Deck. ✅ Identified core desired and undesired emotions at work. ✅ Explored ways to reinforce our desired feeling and avoid undesired feelings at work. A super insightful masterclass with heaps of takeaways (and personal growth). #PersonalGrowth #EmotionalCultureDeck #WorkplaceCulture #OrganisationalChange #LeadingTeams
