We are delighted to share that we have launched our inaugural Disability Action Plan. Over 1.2 million people in Victoria have a disability. To ensure that we are effectively addressing the challenges and barriers that people with disability face when interacting with our services, we have sought the expertise of Get Skilled Access to help us create our first Disability Action Plan. As an organisation that values innovation and inclusion, we pride ourselves on meeting the needs of our clients throughout their experience with our program. To ensure every eligible Victorian can access our program, we have consulted with our clients and staff (both with and without disability), organisations in the disability sector, and consumers. This consultation revealed that our organisation still has a way to go when it comes to accessibility for people with disability. It also showed an immense willingness and motivation to learn and adjust where needed. Our DAP offers a pathway towards improved accessibility. While we implement this plan, we will continue the talk with our internal and external stakeholders to guide us in creating an accessible and inclusive environment for everyone, allowing the full participation of people with disability. At Adelaide Oval, we believe in the power of growth - both professionally and personally. This came to life at our recent inaugural Grow Conference which was dedicated to our amazing casual and part-time workforce. Our staff are at the heart of our business. They are the people who make your food and coffee before the game, scan your tickets, escort you to your seat, and pour you that cold drink at half time – they are the faces of our stadium. The conference was our way of saying thank you and reinvesting in them. Our 520 attendees were guests for the day, giving them opportunity to see the business from a different lens and learn more about our customers. Together, staff grew their knowledge, they grew connections with fellow employees, and they grew their confidence. But importantly, they had fun! A big thank you to Robert Taylor Cultural services for the moving Welcome to Country and to our host Jarrod Walsh for keeping the energy alive on a Sunday. Staff were also lucky enough to participate in world-class customer experience training from Monique Richardson which was overlayed by Disability Inclusion and Awareness Training from Get Skilled Access.
