About us
Gray Puksand is a national architectural practice with studios on the lands of the Kulin Nation, the Eora Nation, the Ngunnawal and the Yuggera. We collaborate with clients from multiple sectors, and across our studios to create spaces that improve how people work, learn, and live. At Gray Puksand, we place people first, we build on knowledge, we lead through design, and we inspire. We’re proud to make a meaningful contribution. That’s been a hallmark of our practice for over 30 years. For us, what is more important than seeing a completed building is remembering the way we got there, and the difference that building will make. That is our legacy.

Our design for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre's relocated Cancer Imaging Department started with a mural image offering hope and serenity, understanding the stress of the cancer screening process. The design narrative of the department uses biophilic principles to achieve a sense of calm that helps to de-stress end users. The use of curved forms, natural colours, and timber-look finishes create softness to reduce the clinical feel of spaces. This inspired the warm and welcoming colour palette incorporated throughout the department as a passive wayfinding tool to guide users through the spaces and delineate waiting areas. 📸: Tatjana Plitt Learn more about the meticulous relocation process via the link below. https://lnkd.in/dpXnz5Ks #GrayPuksand #PeterMacCallumCancerCentre #Melbourne #HealthcareDesign #Architecture

The new purpose-built campus for Coburg Special Developmental School provides a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes learning, personal growth, and wellbeing for nearly 100 prep to year 12 students. The campus is organised into Early Years, Middle Years, and Senior Years sub-schools, with each one forming a distinct Learning Neighbourhood. Every sub-school is tailored to its unique location within the building and provides a variety of learning settings, connection to outdoors and a sense of progression as students advance through their education. Each neighbourhood and specialist area stands out as an individual entity within the whole, creating a larger village-like environment that offers students rich sensory experiences beyond the classroom and enhances learning and functional independence. 📸: Christine Francis Photographer Discover more about this connected learning hub via the link below. https://lnkd.in/gsHVxZf4 #GrayPuksand #CoburgSpecialDevelopmentalSchool #Coburg #EducationDesign SJ Higgins Group | SEMZ | Victorian School Building Authority

It is with great pride that we share that our Launch Housing and Cromwell Property Group global head office projects have been shortlisted for Architecture & Design (Australia)'s Sustainability Awards 2024 in the Interior Design category. Our design approach for Launch Housing's Melbourne workspace was guided by the sustainability initiative of “Repurposing the Surplus”. The eclectic patchwork carpet comprises tiles from discontinued lines, excess stock and samples, demonstrating that eco-friendly design can be achieved without prohibitive costs. Sustainability was a key focus of the design for Cromwell Property Group’s HQ in Brisbane, which incorporates repurposed furniture, biophilic elements, and energy-efficient lighting to deliver a vibrant and engaging workspace. Designed by Gray Puksand, the recently completed Hamilton Parklands School draws upon a simple, domestic vernacular to deliver a brand new campus for this regional community. Specialising in providing learning programs for students with a wide range of educational and developmental needs, the school required an environment conducive to creating a sense of home, comfort, and wellbeing for students and staff. Our team worked closely with school leadership to understand the educational, social, behavioural, operational and logistical elements the design would need to consider. The result is a high-quality campus environment, created to support student’s educational and developmental needs, whilst confidently re-establishing its presence amongst the surrounding neighbourhood. 📸: Kane Jarrod Photography Explore this specialised education project via the link below. https://lnkd.in/gvHqKNmM #GrayPuksand #HamiltonParklandsSchool #EducationDesign #Architecture #InteriorDesign Nicholson Construction | Deloitte PDS | Victorian School Building Authority
