🌍🌿 International Day for Biological Diversity - today - shines a spotlight on action 🌿🌍 Today, on the International Day for Biological Diversity, we celebrate the incredible variety of life on Earth and reflect on our role in preserving it. This year’s theme, "Be part of the Plan," is a powerful call to action for everyone to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by supporting the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, also known as The Biodiversity Plan. At GreenCollar, we are dedicated to taking action by partnering with landholders on environmental projects - in carbon, water, plastics and nature - and committed to applying science to measure and validate real outcomes that afford a value to critical environmental services. Our biodiversity initiative, NaturePlus™, is a world-leading biodiversity credit scheme that uses a scientifically robust environmental accounting framework to inform and incentivise evidence-based decision-making, ensuring positive impacts for nature. NaturePlus™ generates certified outcomes in the condition of native ecosystems, which are valued and rewarded with transferrable NaturePlus™ Credits. Our aim is to achieve and maintain a net gain in the condition of native ecosystems globally. We enable scalable voluntary investment in projects that demonstrate real, measurable, and verifiable biodiversity outcomes. Find out more - www.naturepluscredits.com

🎉 Congratulations to Adam Turnbull, our talented GIS Developer, on the publication of his first peer-reviewed manuscript titled "Delineation and Classification of Wetlands in the Northern Jarrah Forest, Western Australia Using Remote Sensing and Machine Learning". Adam's work is a testament to his expertise in utilizing satellite imagery and machine learning algorithms to accurately map wetland types, vegetation types, and vegetation conditions. His research not only enhances our understanding of wetland distribution in the region but also provides a practical mapping framework for land managers and conservationists. Well done, Adam! 🌟 #GIS #Research #Wetlands

This week we’ve been delighted to host the Australian Land Conservation Alliance in our Sydney office as members met for discussions with NSW Environment Minister, the Hon Penny Sharpe as well as a Member Roundtable and the Alliance’s AGM. GreenCollar is proud to be a member of ALCA as the peak national body representing organisations that work to conserve, manage and restore nature on private land. ALCA’s vision is a future where nature thrives Australia-wide, cared for by empowered people and resilient communities.

Together with ALCA members, we welcomed the opportunity to meet with Minister Penny Sharpe yesterday. It was a good discussion, which noted the role the government can play in bolstering the impact of our sector, and the need for strong legislative reforms and regulations that enable the work of our members. Halting and reversing nature loss needs all hands on deck and we look forward to continuing discussions, and action, that will maximise the social, economic, and environmental outcomes that are already being delivered by the #privatelandconservation sector.
