It’s official, #HeartWeek2024 was our biggest heart health awareness week yet, and we couldn't have done it without the support of YOU - our Heart Foundation communities. ❤️ We're thrilled to have seen almost 35,000 people from around Australia visit their GP for a Medicare Heart Health Check during the campaign period, helping us mark the highest EVER recorded number of Heart Health Checks delivered in one month. 🥳 We also gained the attention of 19 million eyes and ears across the country as it turned red for Heart Week. This included online and on radio, in health professional education events, activations in hospital and general practice waiting rooms, on the footpaths with our dedicated walkers and across state parliament houses. For us, every day is Heart Week. 🙌 But for the rest of the nation, it's an important week and catalyst to help turn thought into action when it comes to proactively looking after your heart. We already can't wait for next year!

Q: How do I increase my veggie consumption? ❓ A: No-added salt canned + frozen vegetables and legumes are the answer! ✅ They are nutritionally equal to their fresh counterparts, often cheaper to purchase, and at times more convenient 🙌 Our top tips 💡 ✅ Add beans to your taco mix for a protein-packed punch ✅ Add baby corn spears and tinned carrots to your stir fry ✅ Add lentils to your favourite spag-bol to stretch it further ✅ Add tinned vegetables, lentils, chickpeas or beans to jazz up soups – add them in whole or blend them up ✅ Add canned mixed beans to give colour and texture to salads 📢 REMEMBER 📢 Always look for no-added salt canned veggies and legumes. P.S. ...there's more! Find more tips on our website: https://lnkd.in/eFi9n5ep

❓ WHAT IS ANGINA ❓ Angina is a type of chest pain or discomfort that can feel like heaviness, pressure, tightness or squeezing. Angina is usually a symptom of coronary heart disease and happens when a coronary artery becomes partially blocked by plaque. This means the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle is temporarily reduced. Remember, if you're experiencing chest pain, you should... ✔️ Stop and rest immediately. ✔️ Tell someone how you feel. If your chest pain is severe, getting worse, or doesn’t go away in 10 minutes, call Triple Zero (000). Ask for an ambulance and don’t hang up – then wait for advice from the operator. You can find more information on Angina on our website here: https://lnkd.in/eEHdkybf
