    Designing Miro's AI Experience 🤖✨ I talk about AI & Design + UX Goodies / 250K followers 📸

🙋♀️I'm always looking for ways in which AI can enhance the design process, and a recent discovery I’m excited about is Dovetail 's set of AI features that help you go from raw data to insights. ✨ 👍 AI is good at a couple of things (I talk about it extensively in the latest edition of the AI Goodies newsletter) and processing large volumes of data is a promising area in which we can hope it will properly remove the friction, cognitive load, and drain that typically come with having to deal with this part that our brain is not necessarily very good at (we prefer tasks that involve creativity). ❌ While I don’t believe we can ever take out the humanity of talking to real people from the research process, I do believe that AI can act as an assistive technology in processing the data that these real-life efforts are producing. 👌 Here’s how Dovetail taps into this opportunity for making designers’ lives easier: ✨ Magic Highlights - after you’ve imported raw data (user calls, interviews, videos, audio, documents), AI can automatically highlight key themes, and provide a reason that helps you tag it. You can approve or reject highlights—keeping you in the loop and in control of what is being extracted. ✨ Magic Search - with all your data available in Dovetail —you can "ask" a question about your customers—and magic search will find all the data that relates to your question and then provide an instant summary along with a video highlight reel that’s nice & easy to share with your team. ✨ Magic Summarization & Magic Clustering are also available and address important pain points we deal with in the research process (extracting key points from large volumes of data, surfacing themes and patterns). 🙋♀️I'm excited to see what the future brings when it comes to evolving our research and design process under the magic wand of AI augmentation, but until then - try tools, experiment, explore! ✨ 🎵 Music credit: Jeff Kaale - Pixels 💬 Are you using AI in your research process? This is one of the best tools hands down for a Product Manager and Founder I wish I knew about this earlier Customer obsession is real... ➡️As a Product Manager, I used to follow a manual process of collecting user feedback through surveys, Zoom calls, and more. My story During one project, we were developing a new feature and needed to gather market data to inform our work. I conducted numerous Zoom calls with users to understand their pain points. Despite taking detailed notes, I missed out on valuable insights because I couldn’t capture every detail accurately. This delay in analysis led to longer development cycles and missed opportunities. Solution 🙌🏻 I started using Dovetail where not only could I gather user feedback, but also convert them into action items, and it also did the analysis for me. It is so important as a Product Manager to know the why behind what. !!!! Why are we trying to bring this product/feature and how will it shape the world !!!! A little more context: ⚠️ Dovetail is the world's leading "AI-first" Customer Insights Hub. These are my top 3 features: 1. Magic Reels: Customer calls shortened to the best moments and highlights. 2. Magic Summarize: Accurate, instant, timestamped summaries of video calls. 3. Magic Search: You can search by topic, ask questions, and get summarized answers. P.S. Let me know in the comments about the struggles you faced as a Product Manager. Can you see how Dovetail’s features could have helped you leverage insights faster?

Designing solutions, Serving people | Experience Designer | Customer Service Professional

I had the pleasure of attending an engaging panel discussion about balancing and mastering customer feedback at Dovetail last night. The panel provided juicy insights on a range of topics: - Collecting feedback - Continuous discovery - Prioritisation & decision making - Challenges with data (accessing and storing) - Balancing business goal and customer insights *Key takeaways* Tamara Paulin : There are 3 main streams in the feedback funnel, each stream serves a different purpose. Hope the visual I created on Canva did your vision justice 😉 Sarah Burton : Prioritise solving problems outside of the product ecosystem that have a bigger impact on customers daily lives. Keep an eye on customer feedback, draw patterns and try to kill two birds with one stone by designing solutions that solve multiple problems. Fatima Kamali, PhD : We can be a better customer advocate by translating customer insights into language that stakeholders understand. Provide more context and background so everyone is on the same page. Bonus nugget from Anahita Jamshidi Fard : Managing stakeholder expectations using percentages i.e We can get it to X % in X days, if you want it at Y % we'd need more time. Shoutout to new friends Elisa Guth Sarah Esteban Arielle Sodowick Michaela Upton Kirsten Randall and it was lovely catching up with some familiar faces Jessica Pang Maigan Webster Thank you to Jeremie Gluckman for organising the event, Dovetail team for hosting and providing yummy nibbles and drinks and Anahita Jamshidi Fard for moderating this informative session. Looking forward to the next event!

Helping people wield AI magic 🪄 Bridging product, design and engineering 🤝 Founding Software Engineer @ Optech.ai

Great panel last night at Dovetail about balancing and mastering customer feedback! My fave takeaways: - Tamara Paulin suggested that there are 3 main streams we get customer feedback from (sales/marketing, voice of the customer, user research) and they each serve a different purpose. Use it like a funnel - start broad and use insights from the top to help work your way down to which specific customer and customer need to focus on. - Sarah Burton urged us to find the universal truths about our customers. What are the problems they face with tasks they need to do; problems that exist even when we completely remove our product from the equation? Is that piece of customer feedback about a "real" problem or a problem that our own product created? - Fatima Kamali, PhD emphasised that we would be much better at advocating for our customers if we learn how to tell their stories in a way that makes sense to business. Understand the business context but also make sure you share the customer's context with your business stakeholders. Thanks to Jeremie Gluckman for organizing such a lovely event and being such a great host despite jet lag, Anahita Jamshidi Fard for being so in her element moderating the panel, Tomas Belica and Erin Campbell for the hosting efforts!
