There were big smiles in the office recently when we learned that our Pilbara Community Alcohol and Drug Service (PCADS) team had been named as finalists in the 2024 WA Youth Awards. The team has invested a great deal of time developing its Young Person Opportunity Program, and has partnered with headspace Karratha and the local juvenile justice team to develop an engaging program delivered in a safe space. Last Friday, our Pilbara team joined Newman community for Rowan's Walk 2024. Rowan's Walk was started 7 years ago by young indigenous leader Mr Rowan Dunn, as a what to honour his Aunty who lost her life to suicide. Through these walks, his mission is to raise awareness and understanding of suicide and suicide prevention, and to remind everyone that we are all worth fighting for. Beautiful Bumps Kalgoorlie - what a success! 🤰 HOPE Kalgoorlie ran sessions promoting healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. These sessions included education and awareness around important topics such as Post Natal Depression, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, NDIS and breastfeeding - as well as fun activities such as belly painting, pregnancy yoga, pamper sessions and more.
