Earlier this year, Hysata CEO Paul Barrett and Senior Global Correspondent of Cipher News, Bill Spindle met at Hysata’s beach-front manufacturing facility in Port Kembla. During the visit, Paul and Bill discussed the Australian hydrogen market, Port Kembla’s history in iron and steel, and Hysata’s role in decarbonising these industries.   Australia exports nearly 900 million tonnes of iron ore per year, responsible for around 1,600 million tonnes of Scope 3 emissions as its converted to steel every year. This is almost 11 times the emissions from our electricity generation, and 4 times Australia’s total domestic emissions. Students at St Joseph’s Primary School in Bulli recently enjoyed a special visit from Hysata Engineer, Holly Hunt.   Holly gave a STEM talk and demonstrated a hydrogen and oxygen separation experiment to support the school’s inquiry based unit “The Cry of the Earth”, which focuses on environmental threats and innovative solutions for them.   She received some hard-hitting questions from students and teachers, which she expertly answered in an engaging way for students but with scientific detail.   Holly also provided a great introduction on what Hysata does, and how hydrogen is harnessed and used today.   Feedback from the school was incredibly positive, with students bubbling with excitement after the visit, talking about what they’d learnt and what they’d be sharing with their families.   Hysata is proud to be helping educate our local teaching community about green hydrogen, and supporting inquiry based learning which helps develop important skills required for future STEM roles. #GreenHydrogen #EfficiencyWins

This week is Brain Injury Awareness Week (BIAW), an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness of brain injuries.   This year’s BIAW theme is ‘What’s your connection?’, an especially relevant theme for Hysata as we celebrate the inspiring story of our very own Head of Intellectual Property Sarah Herbert.   In 2002, Sarah sustained a severe traumatic brain injury in a car accident. Hysata is putting a spotlight on Templewater this week, co-lead in our Series B funding round.   Templewater is an alternative asset management firm with over US$1.5 billion of assets under management across three key strategies in private equity, impacting investing and real estate. Throwback to the opening of our electrolyser manufacturing facility in Port Kembla held one year ago!   The Hysata puffer jackets were out in full force on this cold, rainy wintery day. But that didn’t dampen the celebration with Minister for Climate Change and Energy Hon Chris Bowen MP officially opening the doors of our state-of-the art 8,500 sqm facility in our iconic beachside location at Port Kembla.   Since that day, we have doubled the size of our team, raised a staggering U$111.3 million Series B, been recognised by numerous awards including by the COP28 UAE Presidency, and hosted several local and international VIPs.   The momentum of the past year is powering us forward faster than ever and we’re excited by what we can achieve over the next 12 months.   #GreenHydrogen #EfficiencyWins
