On International Women’s Day 2024, Kirra Services proudly acknowledges and honours the extraordinary contributions of women around the globe. This year, our celebration extends to recognise the promising beginnings of our Indigenous trainees, Iteeka and Tully, as they embark on their new career journeys at Jacobs. The theme for this year, "Count Her In: Invest in Women," serves as a powerful call to action for fostering a world that is not only diverse but also equitable and inclusive. It emphasises the importance of celebrating differences and actively working towards eliminating biases. Let us join hands in creating a society where every woman's potential is recognised, valued, and invested in, contributing to a brighter and more inclusive future for all. President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan | Empowering Asia’s sustainable future through People, Purpose and Partnerships
Empowering our customers to drive impactful change for business and society is so fundamental to what we do. That's why it was wonderful to speak with Payam Rahimi, Head of Procurement, Fujitsu APAC today about the great work Fujitsu are doing with the Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC) and SAP Ariba to support First Nations owned suppliers. By using SAP Ariba, Fujitsu have not only transformed their procurement function into a business-centric model, they've successfully increased the spend towards third-party First Nations suppliers from $200,000 to over $4.5M over the past few years. You can read more about how their implementation of SAP Ariba has enabled a more inclusive and diverse supply chain for Fujitsu and created lasting, positive change here ⬇ https://lnkd.in/dCDWpq92 Angela Colantuono GAICD Sushant Jain Evan Mantis Touraj Vaziri Haghighi Vishal Gupta Natalie Carter

Kirra Services (Supply Nation Certified), partner of iDiC, has collaborated with Dr. Steve Burroughs Foundation to roll out the Portable Aboriginal Communication Environment (PACE). This project, a first of its kind, is revolutionising IT access for Aboriginal communities in remote Australia, transforming a single request for educational resources into a widespread operation to connect these communities with critical online services. iDiC ensured the project's success by managing the logistics and delivering the PACE unit from Canberra directly to the Lightning Ridge Land Council in New South Wales, with thanks to Toll Group. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to driving technological advancement, eliminating the digital divide, and delivering impact where it's needed the most. #blackexcellence #supplynation #indigenousbusiness #blakbusiness
Last week in Australia, we supported the Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation in launching their Portable Aboriginal Communication Environment (PACE) project, bringing IT services to regional and remote Aboriginal communities. Dr Steve and his team embarked on a two-year journey to deliver a portable access to digital and online services, sparked by a simple request from a mother seeking computer and internet access for her child’s education. What began as a single request has evolved into something much larger. The foundation now aims to broaden its impact, providing more individuals with access to the internet and connecting them to vital services like healthcare and education through these portable units. A big shoutout to our team for sponsoring the safe and efficient transportation of the unit from Canberra to the Lightning Ridge Land Council in Northern New South Wales. #proudtobetoll #Australia #FirstNations #idic #toll #kirraservices #supplynation #DiversityandInclusion #EqualOpportunities #CommunityImpact

I’m the first person in my family born off the mission. We don’t have assets that we’ve been building up for the last 100 years in our families. That's Adam Goodes talking. Adam is CEO of Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC), a private company focused on connecting First Nations suppliers with corporate customers. Adam says, “I need to see management and control by an Indigenous person, people or community for us to continue to work with that business." "I get to work with CEOs of big global organisations, I get to work with Indigenous businesses on the ground, I get to work with Indigenous communities, I get to work with government around policy. “This fits into where I want to be operating because I can create change." Early next year, The Australian reports, iDiC will partner with other organisations to build its venture capital and private equity Black Excellence Fund to raise capital and “move the dial” for investment in First Nations businesses. And one of the key focus areas? Renewable energy. Nice one Adam!! Last week we had the pleasure of hosting Adam Goodes from Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC) during the launch of an Indigenous Traineeship Program in Sydney that we’re very proud to have a hand in designing. Toll People, our recruitment and labour hire arm, teamed up with one of our Healthcare customers to offer First Nations candidates the opportunity to study for a Certificate III in Supply Chain Management. Toll has a long-standing partnership with IDiC and we’re really pleased that we can bring our skills to support businesses who are committed to creating employment pathways for our First Nations workers. #Australia #FirstNations

The Indigenous Development and Employment Program (IDEP) was celebrated on the 22nd of November with a graduation dinner at The Pavilion on Ngunnawal Country, Canberra. In attendance to celebrate our Cohort 1 Graduates were our partners from the National Indigenous Australians Agency and the Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC), representatives from our participating organisations and IDEP participants from across our 9 Cohorts. Also in attendance were our partners at The Klepper Training Academy and MFP - Mercury Financial Partners, who continue to provide invaluable support to our program. What truly made the evening unforgettable was the gathering of IDEP participants from various cohorts. These individuals with their unique skills, aspirations and stories, embody the spirit of Indigenous excellence. It was inspiring to witness the sense of community and achievement in the room. A big thank you to the Wiradjuri Echoes for their captivating Acknowledgement of Country on the evening and the JY Indigenous Programs Team for pulling together an amazing event! #IDEP #graduationdinner #Ngunnawal

We are proud to share that Cohort 1 of the Indigenous Development and Employment Program (IDEP) have now graduated! This is the deadly Cohort where the IDEP journey began! What commenced as 8 participants from the National Indigenous Australians Agency, has now grown to 91 participants, across 9 cohorts, 13 Government Departments and 3 agencies from Industry! Graduating the IDEP is a significant milestone for our participants, who have devoted 3 years to their own professional development and growth through attendance at workshops, assessments, mentoring, networking and self-initiated and individualised professional development plans. It has truly been such a privilege to witness the journeys of Cohort 1 and the legacy that they leave our current and future IDEP participants. As Cohort 1 transition towards the next steps in their careers, we will continue to support them and remain connected which includes the development of an IDEP Alumni Program to be launched in 2024. #IDEP #IndigenousDevelopment #promotion #professionaldevelopment

As a co-sponsor in Toll's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Committee, November 29th marked a moment of great pride for me as we unveiled our 2023-2025 Reconciliation Action Plan in Australia. This latest RAP signifies a noteworthy achievement in our ongoing journey toward reconciliation. The launch event took place at our Banksmeadow site and was attended by Managing Director Alan Beacham, President of R&I Chris Carbone, Head of Graduate Program Sharon Abbott, key members of our RAP committee, our industry partner Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC) along with other members of the Toll community. The morning was marked by a poignant Welcome to Country and the melodic tones of the didgeridoo. Notably, the artistic representation of our new RAP was crafted by Kris Khamis, a digital artist of Wiradjuri descent, who also happens to be one of our drivers. This collaborative effort underscores our commitment to fostering reconciliation and celebrating Indigenous culture within the Toll community.
