Ever wondered what keeps C-suites up at night when it comes to global shocks and political risk? We found out when our Chief Investment Officer, Sally Auld GAICD, joined an esteemed panel at the recent United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney (USSC) ‘Economic security in a turbulent world’ conference. Addressing risk management and resilience in the face of geopolitical instability and economic volatility, the conference unpacked the policy decisions and trade-offs facing governments and businesses today. A highly eye-opening and engaging event, and one which we look forward to being a part of next year. JBWere was proud to support a recent NAB Private Wealth #partnership event with The Jewish House charity and our expanded reach in providing No Interest Loans (NILS) and financial assistance to low-income individuals. This collaboration marks the start of something special, with both Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand and The Jewish House charity playing a pivotal role in empowering communities and supporting those in times of need. Highlighting the importance of these relationships was Maria Lykouras, our CEO, who spoke to the enduring commitment we’re playing in supporting philanthropic initiatives. Thank you to our esteemed speakers at the event, with special mention to Rabbi Mendel Kastel for sharing his insights into the work of The Jewish House and Eduardo Carrasco, State Manager for Community Networks NSW/ACT at Good Shepard for sharing examples of the true impact of NILS on individuals. We look forward to fostering this collaboration, and many more, well into the future. Our CEO Maria Lykouras, braved the Sydney cold overnight to take part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise awareness and funds for homelessness. It was a humbling experience, joining business leaders to support this critical cause. By stepping out of our comfort zones, we can make a difference and shine a light on the pressing issue of homelessness. Maria raised over $12,000, which will help provide 38 individual support programs, 100 beds, and 403 meals. We encourage everyone to support initiatives like this, which help build a more compassionate community. #CEOSleeppout #EndHomelessness #Leadership #CorporateResponsibility
