Dare to be different. Live the relationship. Deliver results. Passionate about being the best.
About us
KHQ Lawyers was founded in March 2006 by two lawyers from top-tier and in-house backgrounds who had a vision for a new type of law firm – ‘boutique top-tier’, a firm with top-tier talent, clients, and expertise underpinned by the best characteristics of a boutique firm (namely, nimble, efficient, friendly, and cost effective). While relatively young in approach and outlook, we have built a solid reputation as a strong team of talented practitioners from top-tier and in-house environments. We are proud to be the firm of choice for a prestigious list of ASX-listed and multinational clients across Australia. Our diverse client base also includes high net worth individuals, SMEs, and niche agencies and consultancies. Our teams are led by highly respected practitioners, many of whom have been recognised as among the best in their fields. We focus on getting to know our clients, and tailoring our delivery to their needs. We work closely with our clients to ensure that our services and solutions are relevant to their commercial objectives and are in their best interests. Our expertise includes: - Commercial Property & Development - Competition Law & Regulatory Compliance - Construction & Infrastructure - Corporate & Commercial - Data Privacy, Cyber & Digital - Litigation & Dispute Resolution - Family & Relationship Law - Food & Beverage - Insolvency & Restructuring - Intellectual Property - Private Wealth - Superannuation & Financial Services - Tax & Structuring - Technology - Wills & Estates, and - Workplace Relations & Safety. Our passion and dedication to high quality service delivery is at the core of everything we do.

Each year, we take our emerging leaders on retreat, to encourage them to think about what the next step in their careers looks like, and what they need to do to get there. Our senior leaders share their journeys and we bring in external expertise to give our people the best opportunity to take that leap. It’s a mutually rewarding experience - there’s nothing we value more than guiding our people on the path to achieving their potential. #khqlawyers #auslaw #leadership #growth

We’re an avid bunch of foodies at KHQ, which was never more evident than at our RSPCA Cupcake Day fundraiser yesterday. This year, we encouraged our teams to come up with a theme and present a table of goodies to match. And the results were simply outstanding!! Special guests Maz and Kate from RSPCA Victoria joined us to sample the teams’ efforts and judge a winner, along with extra special four-legged guest, Ziggy, who won everyone’s hearts. In a tightly fought contest, our Litigation team emerged victorious, with the team’s homemade dog biscuits earning an extra lick of approval from Ziggy. The judges gave an honourable mention to our Family & Relationship Law team for their impressive “on theme” spread, and awarded Baker of the Day to Ryan Doherty from our Corporate & Commercial team for his delicious carrot cake. Most importantly, we smashed our fundraising target, providing much needed funds to help the RSPCA with its valuable work in protecting all creatures, great and small. Huge thanks to all our bakers! It may take us a while to recover our appetites … #khqlawyers #auslaw #rspca #fundraising #rspcacupcakeday

Automated recognition systems can play a crucial role in improving safety, preventing fraud, and safeguarding passenger well-being across Australia’s transport networks. However, these systems may gather biometric data, the collection and use of which is subject to strict federal and state regulations. In our latest insight, Alexander Dittel examines the legal framework and why having a reason to deploy such systems may not be enough to meet compliance requirements.
