In case you missed it; Kinora had the opportunity to speak with part of the Brain's Trust at My Plan Manager on Cybersecurity concerns for NDIS (small) businesses this week. And for those who are time poor; TLDR - Cybersecurity comes down to: 1. Knowing exactly what you're protecting i.e. do mini-audits of all your data/information and where it's stored, regularly. 2. Have robust internal policies and procedures on how to manage said data and make sure your staff know these inside and out. 3. For support, templates and in times of breach, go to the Industry experts for FREE and un-biased advice, the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and many others. There's a lot of discussion about fraud and 'criminals' and 'rorting the system' in the context of the NDIS and service providers at the moment. Yesterday the Kinora team had the pleasure of collaborating with Angela Harvey of Supporting Potential to talk about #Feedback for NDIS Service Providers - BUT being #Fearless about receiving and working with feedback to turn it into opportunity for your business. It might not be the s*xiest topic to discuss, it can even be downright uncomfortable to entertain being told "what we're doing wrong" when, it can be argued that NDIS service providers are under the pump from all angles at the moment. While acknowledging providers are doing an exceptionally challenging job in a sector that is currently in the biggest transition of it's decade-young life, being open, vulnerable and curious about what our participants are trying to tell us - through whichever form of feedback that suits them - is key to long-term success within the sector. Feedback is their gift to you, in letting you know how you can be successful as a provider to them.
