Today marks a significant milestone in the School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI), with 15,000 households now connected to free home internet through the program. We are partnering with the Australian Government, the National Referral Centre (operated by Anglicare Victoria) and nominating organisations across the country to provide up to 30,000 eligible households with free broadband access via the nbn network until the end of December 2025.  “We are proud to support SSBI as part of our commitment to enhance digital inclusivity and support equitable access to digital education resources for students across Australia”, said Felicity Ross, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at nbn. Visit the website to find out if you, or anyone you know, might be eligible for free home internet 👉 https://lnkd.in/g4VNMm7J

Scammers are always targeting unsuspecting people via several malicious links and websites claiming to help them. Staying safe from such scams is important. Always 👇 🤔 Think before you click on a link 🛡️ Check if a link is authentic by contacting the source, if you think it is phishy, it might just be 🚨 Stay vigilant and stay safe from online scams If you think you’ve been sent a malicious link and you’ve clicked on it, visit Australian Signals Directorate website to report it and know more.

Phishing is one of the most common and effective techniques used by cybercriminals to gain unauthorised access to a computer system or network. Once a victim engages with the malicious link or file, they may be prompted to provide personal details, or malware may run on their device to covertly retrieve this information. Cybercriminals may then use this information to steal money or goods, or leverage this information to access other accounts and systems of higher value. Australians are becoming more aware of techniques dependent on social engineering (like phishing) but more can be done to build resilience: ✔️ Think twice before clicking on links from unsolicited correspondence ✔️ Verify the legitimacy of suspicious messages with the source via their official website or verified contact information, particularly if it is a request to transfer money or supply sensitive information. Visit the entity’s website directly, rather than via links in emails, SMS or other messaging services ✔️ Report unusual activity as quickly as possible to ReportCyber and Scamwatch ✔️ Educate staff on corporate-focused social engineering tactics and how to identify risk. As a huge sports fan, I’m already super pumped for the start of the #Olympics (only 7 days and 11 hours to go) – and then this happens!  At nbn® Australia, we've teamed up with Nine Radio to create some adroit ads, reminding sports fans that a lightning-fast connection is a certain winner if you’re planning streaming the action.  Running now until September, our French commentator will say 'bonjour' from Fati’s home in Dandenong, Ming’s home in Eastwood, and Zahra’s house in Bentley (and a few more), offering fun and simple tips to ensure armchair sports fans go for glory by streaming with lightning-fast speeds (turn your sound on to hear the ad). On top of reaching the ears of Nine’s two million listeners across popular radio stations 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR, we’ll also be using our own social media channels to help Aussies take their viewing experience to the next level by having the right in-home setup. So to all my fellow Aussie sports fans out there, check and upgrade your speed plan (https://lnkd.in/g8rzq8dz) for the freedom to do great things from the comfort of your couch. Bon visionnage! Shout out to #teamwork Michelle Grigg Dion Durante Jo Whyte GAICD Richard Bradley Jane McNamara Manasvi Sharma Bawa

It was a privilege & an honour to receive a cultural welcome from the Manbarra Traditional Owners & Bwgcolman Elders on Palm Island. Listening to the history of the Story Tree brought a lot of reflection around the importance of connection to country & self. A day I will treasure in the memory bank for a long time to come. #NAIDOC2024 nbn® Australia Carly Crompton Kylie Lindsay Sophie Baldock

🌟 It was fantastic to be at the Strata Community Association Australasia National Conference last week in Sydney, where the theme was customer excellence, a core value of nbn® Australia 🔹 The team and I had excellent conversations about how nbn® Australia can support the Strata and Building Management Industry, including upgrading their buildings to Full Fibre. 🎤 I also had the opportunity to present to the delegates on 𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙀𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. We explored what the evolution of AI means not only for individuals and homes but also for the Strata and Building Management Industry. I discussed how nbn® Australia can help prepare for the data wave heading our way, ensuring buildings and homes have the right infrastructure in place to be future-ready. 🙏 Thank you to Joshua Baldwin, the incoming President of the Strata Community Association Australasia, for facilitating this topic with me and showcasing a range of apps and AI software that all strata managers can utilize in their day-to-day work. These tools make life easier and enable excellent service to customers, ultimately emphasizing the critical need for the right infrastructure to future-proof themselves and their buildings. 🎉 I would also like to extend my congratulations to all the finalists and winners, including Strata Data for winning the 2023-2024 Strata Community Management Large Business Award sponsored by nbn® Australia . #SCAConference #CustomerExcellence #nbn #StrataManagement #FutureReady #AI #Technology #Infrastructure #FullFibre Ed Cox Dave Marshall Kokila Vijayakumar Deanne Cannon Saovany S.

In partnership with the Australian Government, we are evolving the nbn fixed wireless network so more regional Australians can enjoy even better broadband. The higher speeds are being made possible through a $750 million investment into the nbn Fixed Wireless network – $480 million from the Australian Government and an additional $270 million from nbn – and is on track to be completed by around end 2024. The upgrades to towers with new technology and software enhancements, now mean homes and businesses can access wholesale speeds of up to 100Mbps. From July speeds more than four times faster than what is available in market today will be progressively available.
