His legacy is now helping to save many more. Jersey Day was started by Nathan’s family in his honour, to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation. Every year, they ask Australians to wear their favourite sporting jersey and have conversations about the importance of registering as an organ and tissue donor. Our Convenience Advertising, Utility Creative and Diginostic staff teams were extremely privileged to hear first hand about the process and life-saving impact of organ donation from DonateLife representatives Manisha and Phoebe this week. Manisha shared her incredible personal story of becoming an organ transplant recipient, which none of us will ever forget. A liver transplant saved baby Harlen’s life 👶💗His father Matt was joined by other beautiful children who received life-saving organ transplants at The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. Together with Ged Kearney, they asked everyday Australians to register as donors and be the reason someone else gets a second chance at life. Our very own Vicki Harding had the privilege of visiting Newcastle today to attend the very first “Ruby’s Day” rugby league tournament. Ruby received a double lung transplant just last year at the age of 12. What a brave young woman, dedicating so much of her spare time to raising awareness around organ and tissue donor registration and, crucially, encouraging conversations with loved ones about the decision to donate. We are honoured to partner with incredible people like Ruby and her family. Thank you so much for today, and here's to more meaningful work together. Jodie Harrison MP dropped in too, and joined the NSW OTDS for a quick snap along with Nicole and Louise, local Donation Specialist nurses and the amazing volunteer Christine! A special thanks to Vicki for representing OTDS today and for her incredible commitment to raising donation awareness and promoting conversation. A heartfelt thank you to the family who said yes to donation during a tragic time and gave Ruby a second chance at life. The ability to think of others during a time of immense pain is a profound act of generosity that brings hope to so many.
