Meet Peter Leek OAM PLY Parbery’s very own Paralympian!   His talents in swimming won him three golds, four silvers, and a bronze at the 2008 Beijing Games. After his incredible performance, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to sport as a gold medallist at the 2008 Paralympics. What is the collective noun for a group of Project Controllers? A schedule of controllers? A baseline of controllers? Whatever it is, there certainly was a group of us at PGCS 2024!   Taking a break from our day jobs, the Parbery Cost and Finance Team attended the PGCS 2024 Project and Program Management Symposium held at the Hotel Realm. Today, August 19th, marks Equal Pay Day as announced by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency. This date signifies the 50 extra days Australian women must work into the new financial year to match the average pay men earned in the previous year. The national gender pay gap stands at 12%, meaning women earn just 88 cents for every dollar a man makes. This year's theme, ‘It doesn't add up,’ aptly highlights this discrepancy. Yesterday, Parbery had our third quarterly staff meeting of the year. We were hosted by the fabulous CEO Matt Watson, and Relationship and Event Manager Jo Kennedy, at the amazing Pegasus Riding for The Disabled. 🐎 We had Matthew Watson and Jo Kennedy give us a tour of the facilities, and speak to us about our partnership, the programs they provide, and the vision they have for Pegasus, to strive for excellence in delivering horse-facilitated therapy for people with disabilities. As always our quarterly is a great opportunity to come together and receive updates on the accomplishments throughout the business. We also take the opportunity to recognize team members for their hard work and dedication. Additionally, we ensure our efforts are coordinated to ensure the sustainability and growth of the business in line with our strategic plan.
