After a fantastic networking evening sponsored by PCC, our team had the privilege of attending the 10th Annual YWCA Canberra She Leads Conference. This event was not only enriching but also a celebration of empowerment, resilience, and the impact of strong leadership. Here are some of our favourite moments and takeaways from the conference: Jess Hill Presentation: Jess brought us hard truths about systemic problems along with potential solutions, challenging us to think critically about the roles we play within these systems. Pauline Nguyen's Session: Pauline taught us the power of being ‘unreasonably determined’ and forging our own paths through sheer will and determination. Learning to Say NO with Tania Willis: Tania’s impactful message about the importance of prioritisation resonated deeply. She reminded us, “By saying yes, what are you saying no to?” - a vital lesson in setting boundaries. Strategies for Breaking Gender Biases: The conference provided us with practical strategies to challenge and overcome gender biases in the workplace, an essential step towards true equality. Frances Crimmins on Impostor Syndrome: Frances offered a refreshing perspective that we don’t have impostor syndrome but are often misled by systemic biases that make us doubt our abilities. Kath Ebbs Brings Laughter and Authenticity: Kath's session was filled with love and laughter, making her message about authenticity and self-acceptance even more powerful. Teela Reid’s Story: Teela's inspiring journey and her unwavering belief in herself reminded us all of the resilience that lies within us. The She Leads Conference was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from community and shared experiences. Our team left feeling empowered, inspired, and more equipped to tackle the challenges of leadership in our respective fields. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an enlightening event and are excited to bring these insights back to our work and daily lives at PCC. Here’s to many more years of learning, growing, and leading together! #SheLeads #WomenEmpowerment #Leadership

This year, Parker Coles Curtis was thrilled to sponsor the YWCA Canberra She Leads Networking Night—an inspiring evening dedicated to uplifting and empowering women. The theme of this year's conference - She Rises! The event was not only a celebration but also a reminder of the powerful impact we can have when we come together to support one another. Catherine Coles, one of our founding directors, delivered a moving speech about the significant work we do at Parker Coles Curtis. She highlighted how we strive to help women "rise up" and navigate through challenging times of their separation with strength dignity. Her words resonated deeply, echoing our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of the women we serve with care and compassion. The night was filled with laughter, thanks to a hilarious performance by Caitlin Maggs, a brilliant comedian, and our team had a fantastic time networking with other like-minded professionals. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, share stories, and build relationships that will help foster our ongoing commitment to community and empowerment. We're proud to be part of such an impactful event and look forward to continuing our support for initiatives that empower women and enrich our community. Here's to many more inspiring nights ahead! #SheLeads #CommunitySupport #Empowerment

🌟 A couple of weeks ago Cameron Rybinski from our team delivered an inspiring speech as sponsors at the ACT Law Society's Young Lawyer Ball. As the proud recipients of the Best Law Firm of the Year 2023, we celebrate our commitment to placing care, compassion, and choice at the heart of our practice. This philosophy extends beyond our clients to our team, particularly young lawyers who often face the daunting challenges of balancing professional demands with personal obligations. Cameron shared his personal journey, highlighting the supportive nature of our firm supporting him and others through the early phases of their career and professional development. Cameron captured the essence of what we stand for—a firm that not only champions the empowerment of clients during their most challenging times but also nurtures the growth and well-being of our staff. In addition to supporting our staff we provided over $130,000 in pro bono legal services and raised significant funds for community partners such as Women's Legal Centre and Roundabout. Our dedication extends beyond our clients to the broader community, supporting organisations such as Karinya House, Menslink, Parentline, The Men's Table, YWCA, and the Women's Legal Centre. At Parker Coles Curtis, we do more than practice law. We build a community where each member, no matter how young or new, feels valued, supported, and confident that their work matters. Here’s to many more years of making a difference, one case and one lawyer at a time! 🎉👩⚖️👨⚖️ #Empowerment #CommunityImpact #YoungLawyers #LawLifeBalance
