Today, Peet released its FY24 results, achieving operating profit and statutory profit after tax of $36.6 million. Managing Director and CEO, Brendan Gore said, “The Group remains well-positioned to navigate the current environment, including having projects in Vic and ACT/NSW that are ready to benefit from a recovery in those markets and the capital to implement an appropriate delivery program in response.” Subject to continuing market conditions and the timing of settlements, and supported by more than $480 million in contracts on hand, Peet is well-positioned for FY25, with expectations for earnings growth and strong operating cash flows.

This International Youth Day, Peet proudly supports Black Dog Institute in celebrating a key milestone through the Future Proofing Study. Future Proofing is Australia’s largest and most comprehensive study of adolescent mental health, surveying over 6,000 students between the ages of 13-18. The study aims to understand why mental health rates are increasing in young people, identify targets for early intervention and prevention and use data to inform education, guidelines and policy to improve youth mental health and wellbeing. This month, the first cohort of students surveyed since 2019 will complete their final survey, including questions about their retrospective reflections on school life, their chosen paths and trajectories post-school. In addition to funding support of the Future Proofing Study, the partnership delivers community and workplace education sessions throughout the year, providing participants with opportunities to talk about mental health and receive support. Now entering its third year, the partnership with Black Dog Institute aligns with Peet's social sustainability strategy of creating positive impact in our communities and for our staff. “We have a strong focus on prioritising mental wellbeing within the workplace and in the community, so are very proud of our partnership with Black Dog Institute and are pleased to join them in celebrating this research milestone,” said Peet Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore. “The ability to support a program that helps better understand the pressures young people experience, to provide preventive interventions on a large scale and create meaningful change in an area that impacts most families in some way is invaluable”.  #internationalyouthday #youthmentalhealth #futureproofing

Peet is committed to creating socially and environmentally sustainable outcomes that deliver long term benefits for the community, and we have a number of Peet estates around the country that support National Tree Day as a national community initiative. Last week, local schools in our communities of Newhaven Tarneit (VIC), Bluestone Mt Barker (SA), Googong (NSW), Brabham Estate (WA) and The Village at Wellard (WA), planted native trees, plants, shrubs and seedlings, helping educate students about sustainability and the role we can all play in having a positive impact on our local environment. Thanks to Tranen Revegetation Systems, LD Total, Greater Western Water, Mount Barker District Council and Creating Communities Australia for their collaboration on this national initiative which not only boosts the local ecosystem but also engages an entire generation of students, encouraging them to care for both the community and local environment for years to come. #nationaltreeday #sustainability #environment

Brabham Estate held its second annual NAIDOC Week celebration over the weekend in partnership with the City of Swan. The community came together to recognise and celebrate the history and culture of the area and the rich contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples make to the community. Respected local Elders Cindy Garlett and John Mogridge delivered the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, and dancers from Dadaajal performed traditional dance that has been passed down through generations. The community were entertained by talented Aboriginal Australian singer songwriter Angela Rule who, through her music, shared her own stories and life experiences. Peet is committed to ongoing positive engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we move forward together to foster inclusion and build unity within the community. Brabham is a Peet community developed in partnership with DevelopmentWA.

Across our operations, we have an intrinsic connection to the land and community and are committed to playing our role in contributing towards reconciliation. This National Reconciliation Week, we were pleased to be joined by Christian Hampson, CEO of Yerrabingin Pty Ltd, an Aboriginal owned design studio that works with industry to deliver environmentally conscious native landscapes and place making designs enriched with Indigenous narratives. Christian shared an insightful presentation outlining his Connecting with Country framework and the collaborative design approach undertaken during the planning phase of a Peet project. These design principles will ultimately lead to a socially inclusive, innovative community that honours the rich cultural heritage of the place and fosters a strong connection to both the environment and people. #NRW2024
