  • WARNING - PID Pelvic Inflammatory Disease! 🛑 Prompt treatment with medicine can get rid of the infection that causes pelvic inflammatory disease. But there's no way to reverse any scarring or damage to the reproductive tract that pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) might have caused. Treatment for PID most often includes: Antibiotics. Your health care provider will prescribe a combination of antibiotics to start immediately. After receiving your lab test results, your provider might adjust your prescription to better match what's causing the infection. You'll likely follow up with your provider after three days to make sure the treatment is working. Be sure to take all of your medication, even if you start to feel better after a few days. Treatment for your partner. To prevent reinfection with an sexually transmitted infection (STI), your sexual partner or partners should be examined and treated. Infected partners might not have any noticeable symptoms. Temporary abstinence. Avoid sexual intercourse until treatment is completed and symptoms have resolved.

  • Cancer is one of the most top concerns for Women’s Health In Australia, one in two women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 (Cancer Council Australia, 2021). Thankfully, many cancers can be treated successfully and about 70% of women in Australia with cancer, will be alive five years or longer after their diagnosis. Early prevention and detection are incredibly important to increase your chances of successful treatment. The most common cancers that are affecting women in Australia are: 🛑Skin cancer 🛑Breast cancer 🛑Bowel cancer 🛑Lung cancer 🛑Cancer of the uterus 🛑Ovarian cancer 🛑Cervical cancer 🛑Thyroid cancer With new ways of detecting and preventing cancer, it is ever more important to make regular visits to your GP for check-ups and screenings. Most cancer treatments such as chemotherapy can harm healthy cells as well as cancerous ones and usually aren’t a one-size-fits-all treatment for cancer patients. In May 2023, the ACRF reported that precision medicine is a new form of treatment which matches the most effective treatment to a patient’s cancer profile. Furthermore, precision medicine can help predict and avoid adverse reactions to certain medications (Australian Cancer Research Foundation, 2023).

  • Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe pain in the pelvis and make it harder to get pregnant. Endometriosis can start at a person’s first menstrual period and last until menopause. With endometriosis, tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. This leads to inflammation and scar tissue forming in the pelvic region and (rarely) elsewhere in the body. The cause of endometriosis is unknown. There is no known way to prevent endometriosis. There is no cure, but its symptoms can be minimalized with treatments and care from your pelvic health Phsyio! Research shows that self-control in diet strengthens overall willpower, enhancing our ability to manage other aspects of life. By mastering hunger, we build the foundation for greater mental and physical resilience."
