Just in time for summer! ☀️ Our teams around southeast Queensland have been working with SPORTENG to rejuvenate various parks and sporting and recreation facilities just in time for the warmer weather! These projects involved detailed site investigations, soil testing, and foundation assessments to ensure the fields met the stringent standards required for this type of sports venue.   Our geotechnical expertise played a vital role in the successful development and enhancement of these sports fields. All of these projects involve upgrades to clubhouse buildings, athletics tracks, green fields and playgrounds. #Paris2024 has just wrapped up but the International Olympic Committee – IOC weren’t the only organisation handing out gold medals recently! Our geotechnical driller Josh Smart recently returned from England where he competed in the Federation of International Touch Touch Football World Cup! Held every four years, the Touch World Cup brings together around 40 countries to compete in 13 categories from Mixed Open teams to Men’s 55. As part of the Australian Men's 30s team, Josh and his teammates played 12 games over a week, easily defeating each of their opponents before going head-to-head with New Zealand in the final. Josh who played in all 12 games for Australia and scored 10 tries ultimately helped Australia secure the gold medal 🥇 against New Zealand! Josh has been our driller at PTG Consulting for almost 10 years, but touch football has been in his life for much longer than we have! Last Thursday, our General Manager, Sarah Lambert, CPEng, GAICD facilitated a panel of the WA Legends of Water at the Australian Water Association annual breakfast event in #Perth. The three panellists, Susan Worley, Peter Moore, and Josh Byrne are true legends of the water industry, known across the country for their expertise and impact. Our team is wrapping up this week after a year of working on several sites for Powerlink Queensland! The team have worked on a rotating roster to conduct bored pile inspections for Powerlink’s transmission network, including a new connection for Wambo Wind Farm. Some key facts about our work on Powerlink’s project and the Wambo Wind Farm: ⚡47km transmission line 🗼123 transmission towers 🕳️492 bored piles inspected 🍃More than 80 turbines to be constructed ♻️>500MW of clean energy will be generated by 2026 Our team have enjoyed working on the Wambo Wind Farm Connection Project and is glad to have contributed to the sustainable generation of electricity for future generations to enjoy. Australian Institute of Architects celebrated Queensland’s best at their 2024 State Awards Ceremony last month in Brisbane. On the night, projects across public, residential, education, sustainable architecture and urban design were awarded in 20 categories. Our Noosa SCG team was privileged to work as the structural engineers for Tim Ditchfield Architects' design, 'Corymbia,' which received a State Commendation.
