We commented on the New Zealand Government's second emissions reduction plan, endorsing Centre for Sustainable Finance: Toitū Tahua's (CSF) submission. We strongly agree that a clear, stable strategy is essential to attract the investment needed for a successful transition to #netzero by 2050.   We welcome the commitment by the NZ Government to partner with CSF for developing the taxonomy and sustainable finance strategy. We work closely with CSF and will continue to do so, sharing our experience in establishing the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative and our work with the Australian Government on Australia’s sustainable finance taxonomy and sustainable finance strategy (now the Australian Sustainable Finance Roadmap). This long-awaited move marks a significant milestone for investors, as it will provide clear and comparable disclosures on climate-related financial risks. Understanding these risks is crucial as we continue our transition to net zero emissions.
