On behalf of the more than 1 million women we represent at Rest – we congratulate the Government for introducing this legislation and encourage the Parliament to pass it at the earliest opportunity. It’s time to make this change a reality and create a fairer, more equitable future for all Australian women. 🙌 Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/grGA4rp7 #fairsuper #superannuation #equality

“We’re guided by the unique needs of our members when it comes to retirement and advice,” Rest Chief Executive Officer Vicki Doyle told the Conexus Retirement Conference in Canberra last week. Many of our members, and around 67% of Australians*, rely on some form of Government income support in retirement. That’s why it’s crucial Rest helps our members to better understand the super system, including how the aged pension interacts with their super. Rest shared insights with The Australian Financial Review on why the transition to a net zero economy is a huge and historic investment opportunity for our 2 million members. Rest’s investment of $1 billion into Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners last November underscores our commitment to decarbonisation – 1 of the 5 megatrends we believe will reshape the markets and society for decades to come. As most of Rest’s younger members will retire into a post-net zero world, we believe it’s in their best financial interests to take advantage of climate-related opportunities and support actions for a more sustainable future. This will help us provide strong, long-term returns alongside environmental benefits for members. Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gbmdqYZZ

Just 4 in 10 Australians know that retirement balances are usually mostly made up of compound returns from investments. *💡 Many Australians don’t understand super. To help change this, Super Members Council (SMC) has launched an initiative that explains ‘How Super Works’ to everyday Aussies. At Rest, we know it’s crucial for members to understand and engage with their super, because making small changes now can make a big difference to their retirement savings. It’s why we’re dedicated to simplifying every aspect of super for our members. As part of this work, and a founding SMC member, we’re proud to help promote this important initiative.👏 #SuperSimple #Retirement #Superannuation *According to research conducted by Pyxis Polling and Insights, on behalf of Super Members Council, via an online survey of 1030 Australians aged 18+ between Friday 12 July to Tuesday 16 July 2024.
Did you know? Our modern superannuation system only started in 1992, which means it has been growing Australian’s retirement savings and delivering good returns for the past 32 years. But this will only improve as now super has increased to 11.5% of your wages. This advice is general or factual in nature only. It is not financial advice about a particular superannuation product or class of superannuation products. To find out more go to HowSuperWorks.com
