Today we announced another important partnership that will bring us one step closer to helping repair our planet by eliminating textile waste. Together with NILIT LTD, we will explore building the world-first's nylon 6,6 recycling facility. Nylon 6,6 is one of the most widely used fibers in performance apparel and fashion but it’s notoriously difficult to recycle so often ends up incinerated, in landfill or leaking into our environment. Our planned facility will recycle textile waste back to its original building blocks for brands to use to recreate brand new textile fabrics infinitely. It’s an important milestone for us all as we create a circular pathway for nylon 6,6. Read more on the announcement at Capital Brief. Link in thread. #circulareconomy #sustainablefashion #recycling

Delivering climate repair through Infinite Recycling
About us
Samsara, in collaboration with a leading Australian research institution has developed an enzymatic technology that recycles plastics. The depolymerisation process is energy and cost effective converting heterogeneous plastics and hard to recycle plastics back to their original monomers for reuse as recycled inputs in the production of new plastics allowing for the infinite recycling of plastics.

Samsara Eco is built on science. It is at the heart of everything we do. This week we introduced our Scientific Advisory Board, a team of pre-eminent researchers with deep expertise who will help us scale our infinite recycling tech. Our experts include: Sean Simpson: an award-winning scientist and co-founder of LanzaTech, a carbon recycling business, who pioneered the commercialisation of gas fermentation processes. Gregg T. Beckham: A distinguished Senior Research Fellow and Group Leader at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, renowned for his groundbreaking work in biomass conversion and plastics upcycling. Sang Yup Lee: An award-winning, globally recognised expert in biotechnology and metabolic engineering who holds over 800 patents. Working alongside our R&D and technology teams, the Scientific Advisory Board will help shape the future of Samsara Eco. Thank you Ed Husic MP, Cathy Foley and Alicia Payne for visiting our Canberra lab today. Samsara Eco was born to help solve the climate crisis by addressing the plastics crisis with science and technology so it’s incredibly humbling to have our science home used as the backdrop for today’s Government announcement introducing the Nation’s new Science & Research Priorities. The problems our planet faces are serious. Science has proven time and time again how it can help solve these problems. With a renewed focus on science from the Government, we hope more innovations based on science are propelled to heal our planet.
