The Dax Centre is excited to host a new creative workshop, Craft & Connection, led by Melbourne artist, Louise Meuwissen, inspired by our collection exhibition, ‘She Who Persists.’    Louise will guide workshop attendees through the process of creating an embroidered clothing patch to adorn a personal item, such as your tote bag, jacket, jeans, or even a cushion or blanket! Louise will also speak to her practice, and her experience in crafting’s capacity to facilitate mental wellbeing.    The workshop presents a chance for attendees to connect with others in their community who enjoy craft and tour our current exhibition She Who Persists. This will be a non-judgmental space, where attendees can connect, share if they choose to do so, and find comfort in their craft practice and the pleasure of communal creativity.    Participants will receive a glass of champagne on arrival, with tea, coffee and juice, and a cheese platter and desserts spread to follow.    Tickets are $80 per person + booking fee + GST. This Includes the workshop, materials, food and drink, and a gallery tour.    Visit https://lnkd.in/gVhPVedw to buy tickets and learn more.    Image Credits: Courtesy of Louise Meuwissen. Urgent call for real change for people needing mental health support   Australia's mental health system remains fragmented, making it easy for people to fall through the cracks—whether by moving interstate, leaving critical care without follow-up, or having to repeatedly retell their trauma story to new providers.   Today, as state and federal leaders gather to address these issues, we echo the voices of people like Luke Marshall, a SANE Peer Ambassador and Board Member, who bravely shared his story on Channel 9. Luke's story underscores the need for a more connected system that provides consistent support across all states and territories.   Digital services, like SANE's, that bridge these gaps could be the difference between someone receiving the help they need or slipping through the cracks. Let's work towards a more connected and supportive mental health system.   Read about Mental Health Australia's Statement of Priorities here. https://lnkd.in/gPSrgBrJ
