CEOs, is your business suffering from under performers on your team? 11 Questions I Ask To Decide Whether To Develop Or Replace If you're putting up with a low performer on your team, you're setting yourself up for some serious fallout: ⚠️ Your A-players won't put up with it - you'll lose your best people. ⚠️ Other team members end up picking up the slack, it isn’t fair on them. ⚠️ The team's overall performance starts slipping to to the lowest standard. ⚠️ Your customers will notice - and it won’t be positive. ⚠️ Your company culture will take a hit. ⚠️ Your bottom line will suffer. ⚠️ The under-performer won't reach their full potential. ⚠️ And you'll keep dealing with the same headaches, day in and day out. It’s time to do the right thing—for them, for your team, and for your business. 1. Put an action plan in place A-Players - What will we do to keep them? B-Players - What will we need to do to move them into A Performers? Are they capable? Toxic C-Players & C-Players - What is our short term plan? 2. Decide timing, eg. No Toxic C Players or C Players in the business by <<Date>>. 90% A players, 10% B players, no B/C or C players by <<Date>>. 👇 Do you want a copy of my Tool - 11 Questions I Ask To Decide Whether To Develop Or Replace - Comment "11 Questions" in comments & I'll send it to you Reach out if you need help building a team of A-players

Almost every high performer experiences IMPOSTER SYNDROME 🤷 Let's understand this feeling, how to manage it, and its impact on you. Imposter syndrome makes you doubt your success. You fear being seen as a "fraud." It's surprisingly common. About 70% of people feel this way at some point. This doubt stops them from trying new things. This is a big problem for leaders. For founder CEOs, this means not valuing their success. They think it's just luck. They worry people will see they're not experts. But imposter syndrome comes and goes.. It pops up with big changes, like entering a new market, hiring a leader with more experience than you, fundraising, etc. A key to managing it is to identify those triggers. CEOs with this syndrome avoid risks. They miss chances to grow. They struggle to decide. This hurts their company. 💥Here's how to beat imposter syndrome💥 1. Be self-aware: Notice and name these doubtful thoughts. 2. Talk positively to yourself: Focus on what you've done well, your accomplishments & successes. 3. Get help: I and my CEO clients talk through these feelings. We've all been there. 4. Set real goals: Choose goals you can reach. This builds confidence. 5. Record your wins: Write down your successes and good feedback. The good news? Imposter syndrome means you're growing. You're trying new things. When you see it that way, it's actually positive. Do yourself a favour and listen to this short TedX talk (13 min) of Mike Cannon-Brookes as he speaks about Imposter Syndrome In this surprisingly personal talk, he reveals how he constantly feels like an imposter, but how he’s learned to harness those feelings for his benefit. Mike Cannon-Brookes, is an Australian billionaire business magnate who is the co-founder and co-CEO of software company Atlassian. Atlassian was established in 2002 and as at the time of writing this blog has revenue of 3.53 billion USD & 10,726 employees (June 2023). 🔍 𝐂𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 “𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞” As a CEO, you’re often faced with a multitude of decisions every day. From strategic moves to daily operations, the weight of these choices can be overwhelming. Over time, this can lead to decision fatigue—where the quality of your decisions diminishes due to mental exhaustion. 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙄𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨? With each decision, you're investing valuable mental energy. When you're fatigued, it's not just the big decisions that suffer, even routine choices can become daunting, affecting overall productivity and effectiveness. 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙡-𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩: 𝘼 𝘾𝙀𝙊'𝙨 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 Let me tell you about Sarah, a dynamic CEO of a fast-growing tech company. Sarah was sharp, ambitious, and involved in every detail of her business. As her company expanded, so did the number of decisions she had to make daily. From strategic moves to operational details, Sarah was in the thick of it all. But then, decision fatigue set in. She found herself struggling with even the simplest choices, leading to a critical mistake: she approved a costly marketing campaign without thoroughly vetting it. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩? A significant budget loss and a demoralised team questioning her leadership. Realising the risk, Sarah sought help. Together, we implemented a decision-making framework and empowered her leadership team to take on more responsibility. This allowed Sarah to step back from the daily grind and focus on working on her business, not just in it. The shift was transformative—she regained mental clarity, saw her team grow in confidence, and was able to drive her company’s strategic direction with renewed energy. Decision fatigue is real, but with the right strategies, you can overcome it, reclaim your focus, and lead your business to new heights. #CEO #Leadership #DecisionFatigue #BusinessGrowth #ExecutiveCoaching #LeadershipDevelopment
