  • This month, seven of our Westfield destinations hosted a series of health, fitness, and wellness evets for the Westfield Move it for Mental Health campaign, in support of Lifeline Australia. Our National Community Manager, Pamela Wilson Wilson said: “Lifeline Australia is the peak mental health crisis service in Australia. “As part of our ongoing national partnership, we have collaborated to launch the Westfield Move it for Mental Health campaign, encouraging our customers to participate in a range of health and fitness events whilst promoting the positive benefits of regular exercise on physical and mental health. “To further support Lifeline’s important work, we are matching our customer donations up to $30,000AUD. “Our support of Lifeline helps connect people with their essential services at times of need, as well as helping to maintain their capacity to provide that essential support. “It’s one way we are proactively supporting our local communities address mental health challenges.” #communitypartner #community

  • As an official Team Partner of the New Zealand Olympic Team, Westfield Newmarket hosted New Zealand’s first Olympic Congratulations Celebration for our Kiwi athletes returning from Paris. On Saturday, over 500 excited Aucklanders were at Westfield Newmarket to congratulate Olympians Finn Butcher, Michaela Blyde, Lucy Spoors, Brooke Francis, Emma Twigg, Isaac McHardie, William McKenzie and David Liti. Many customers travelled from all over Auckland for the first meet and greet appearance, with some super fans arriving 2 hours early to catch a glimpse of their champions. Our customers were treated to a live Q&A and also had the opportunity to race against our Olympians on a rowing machine.   • In partnership with Sony Music Entertainment Australia, Amy Shark connected with her fans at Westfield Miranda, performing songs from her new album, ‘Sunday Sadness’.   Jacqui Waine, General Manager Marketing and Community, said “Our unique capability to activate our Westfield destinations creates great opportunities for our business partners.   “Close collaboration with our partners allows us to continue to recognise and deliver key experiences for our customers, attracting more people, more often for longer to our destinations.”   Andrew Wolfe, Senior Marketing Manager Westfield Miranda, said “Amy Shark was welcomed by our community, who were treated to an up close and personal live performance, signing session and meet and greet.   “Our customers started to arrive in the early hours of the morning and by performance time, the atmosphere was electric.   • Today we released our results for the six months to 30 June 2024 with Funds From Operations (FFO) of $568 million (10.95 cents per security, up 2.0%) and Distributions of $446 million (8.60 cents per security, up 4.2%). Statutory Profit for the period was $404 million and includes an unrealised property valuation decrease of $120 million. As at 30 June 2024, the Group’s portfolio was valued at $34.3 billion. Our CEO, Elliott Rusanow said: “Our 42 Westfield destinations, located throughout Australia and New Zealand, represent the heart of communities they each serve. I would like to thank our team for their tireless efforts and dedication in making this possible. “Our focus on creating more reasons for people to visit has seen 320 million customer visitations so far this year.   • Today, we announce the finalists for our 2024 Westfield Local Heroes community recognition and awards program, and are inviting our local communities to vote for who they think should be their Westfield Local Hero. The successful hero for each centre will be awarded a $20,000 grant for the group or organisation they represent, and the other finalists will receive a $5,000 grant for their group or organisation. This year's finalists provide services to a wide range of areas including disability and access, domestic violence and child protection, family support and new parents, youth support and education, mental health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, among many others.   • Last week our CEO, Elliott Rusanow and former Chair, Brian Schwartz, had the pleasure of meeting the inaugural recipient of the Brian Schwartz AM – Scentre Group Scholarship for Excellence at Western Sydney University. Created in recognition of the leadership and contributions of Mr Brian Schwartz AM, the Scentre Group Scholarship for Excellence was first unveiled to coincide with Brian’s retirement as Scentre Group Chair in 2023. Tully Lynch, the inaugural and 2024 recipient, is using the fully funded scholarship to assist the completion of his Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine) / Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Western Sydney University. Elliott said: “The afternoon tea was a wonderful opportunity for us to once again honour Brian’s leadership and legacy, and to meet Tully and understand more deeply the impact that our scholarship will have on him, his family and the broader community. It was very inspiring. “A special thanks to Christian Burden, Bill Parasiris and Yossi Buskila for sharing more with us about the university and some of its key priorities and research projects. We value our relationship with Western and the positive impact the scholarship will have on future students, recipients and the Western Sydney community.”

  • Our collaboration with The Walt Disney Company continues to offer unique and exclusive experiences for our customers, with the Australian Disney Store Pop-Up opening in Westfield Doncaster on Saturday 10 August.   Opening alongside the global launch of the highly exclusive Disney Lorcana TCG D23 Collection, Westfield Doncaster became the only place in Australia you could buy the set, one of only seven locations in the world.   Jacqui Waine, General Manager Marketing and Community, said “We are thrilled to collaborate with Disney to offer our customers access to the Australian Disney Store Pop-Up at Westfield Doncaster.    “We have worked closely with Disney to curate experiences exclusively for Westfield, bringing magic to our customers in only a way Disney does.”   Jamielle Partridge, Senior Marketing Manager Westfield Doncaster, said “The experience attracted Disney fans from all over the country, with a consistent line of people throughout the opening weekend.    “It is always exciting to see our customers connect with the unique moments we have on offer, as we focus on attracting more people to our Westfield destinations more often, for longer.”   Popping up at Westfield Doncaster from Saturday August 10 to Friday August 30, the Disney Store Pop-Up will include over 200 products to shop, with exciting new releases arriving weekly.

  • As an official partner of the Australian Olympic Team, we were there this morning to welcome home our Aussie athletes returning from Paris! The energy was electric with friends and family gathering around to cheer them off the plane and celebrate their victories.
